Is there a easy fix or at least a known reason (besides that it’s somehow caused by the config) why the texture on my Trilby looks like this?
People who use a fps config say that it’s fucked for them too but people that aren’t using one say it’s fine. I’m using the dx9frames config.
Everything else is perfectly fine.
I have the same issue, also note that the demoman pipelauncher looks totally retarded with the config and normal without it.

It looks like low-poly model.
Chris, is this laptop good for TF2 ? Here’s me wishing that i don’t have to use the Max Config on it, hoping to play it with atleast some AA and medium Graphics.
– Medion Akoya P6624 –
GPU – 1024MB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT425 M
CPU – Intel Core i5-460M (2.53GHz)
RAM – 4GB
OS – Microsoft Windows 7
Is this a good price for it ? (499,99 Pounds)
I have 15% discount on it due to girlfriend working on Sainsbury so it’s around 425 Pounds.

separate thread please.
I have messed around a bit with the config, but my fps still “jump” a lot (it is just unstable). By “messing arround” I mean enabling fullscreen again in launch options. I have a good enough machine to handle it, although… I use shitty windows 7! Is there anything I can possibly do to get stable 120 fps without installing XP?
I used your dx9 fps config
Config:
4 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 4870 HD (512 mb)
Intel core2duo e6600 @ 3 Ghz
Thanks in advance :)

I too was experiencing ping problems, I too used Chris’ configs, I too started messing with them (enabling one, then disabling another until I found the right balance between look and performance), I too messed up beyond repair, and finally I too had to install XP to get rid of it. :D
Works like a charm now without any config.
so is there that much difference between win seven and xp for tf two?
also 32 or 64 ?
Oh god, I don’t really want to install win xp. But are you talking about ping or fps? Because my ping is perfectly fine , stable 60 – 70 on most match servers. My fps on the other hand, well, it jumps from 120 to 60, sometimes even 20 – 30.
I use win 7 64 bit

very much hardware specific. in general, low-mid end machines suffer a lot from win7. high end, the opposite often occurs.
technically 32-bit should give you more fps, but it will be negligible.

well the good elfs just gave me this and it will be used only to launch video games so I can forget my cruel reality. I don’t think it can be called “low-mid end machines”

that’s somewhere between mid to high end (at least, in this context). i doubt it would matter either way on that machine.
