Yes, but is it better to use rate of 30000 or 100000 or is it just preference?
30`000 is not enough for pub, but you wouldnt spike to 30000 in most 6v6’s… tho spiking to it is bad so bigger = better
Updated, adds viewport upscaling to all *frames configs (1:0.5 upscale on maxframes, 1:0.7 upscale on highframes/dx9frames)

Does it really get much fps improvement in tf, i mean the viewport upscaling? :p

Not really. I see almost no FPS improvement in my tests.
Upscaled 1:0.7 now in maxframes, not upscaled at all in highframes/dx9frames. Tried on systems with varying bottlenecks, seeing almost no improvement.

dx9frames now uses dxlevel 95 due to repeated reports of pixelfog issues in dxlevel 90.
i dunno if someone else is using fraps, but since i had HUUGE shitty issue with blinking white lights everywhere i might aswell report it here.. just dont use fraps if u want dx8, it seems somewhat broken since halloween :]
I use one of your dx8 configs(can’t remember which) But i installed a dx9 cfg on an alt to try it out the graphics but now i have somewhat dx9 looking for graphics on my dx8 cfg :D.
Upscale off. Had some systems to test today which should have benefited from the upscaling benefits. They didn’t, so it’s forced off.
Hi there.
every time i start up tf2 with chris’ config highframes the resolution changes from the current resolution to the same resolution.
like:
Changing resolutions from (1920, 1080) – (1920, 1080)
Changing resolutions from (1024, 768) -> (1024, 768)
the screen flashes to a black screen shortly.
can this be avoided?

Latetely i have seen a lot of people using these and i just wanna know what advantages/disadvantage using these settings give?
1.
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
cl_interp 0
This makes your interp go much lower than normal2.
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 20001
cl_interp 0
This makes your interp go to 0.0 and it’s all white3.
Using rates between 30000 and 100000, when your net settings tell to set it at 60000 or 35000Thanks.

What are your launch options?

It’s just silly.
i have to shortcuts because sometimes i want to run tf2 in a window. i don’t have launchptions in the steam settings.
Normal:
D:SpieleSteamSteam.exe -applaunch 440 -fullscreen -w 1920 -h 1080 -novid -console -hideconsole -dxlevel 98
Windowed:
D:SpieleSteamSteam.exe -applaunch 440 -windowed -w 1024 -h 768 -novid -console -hideconsole -dxlevel 98

Stop doing this. Steam launch options are of ambiguous context (the client provides no way to make it unambiguous).
