Saloon.tf is dead, right?
Because it’s unprofitable.
TF2 is more predictable game than CS. That’s why. :D

Tf2 betting website will attract traders who don’t even know about teams, don’t forget there’s going to be Betting for ESEA, ETF2L, UGC (i think) and CEVO matches and traders who don’t have any knowledge about those teams will either have to ask their friends who play comp., make some researches about teams or just do a random bet

So for players new to competitive, it won’t be predictable and a lot of Eu players don’t know about majority of CEVO and ESEA teams so they have to do their own research as well

If everything goes smoothly and Saloon.tf grows, a lot of people, especially traders, will get into competitive, as of now the majority of players in Tf2 imo are Pubbers > Traders > Comp. Players so influencing Trading section with Comp. Tf2 will help Competitive to grow, but that’s just in theory right now.

It’s a non-profit project. Cherry’s also doing the ETF2L redesign, and I’m sure he has rl to live. I doubt the relative merits of betting on CS or TF2 have anything to do with it.

Hey,
Sorry for not keeping you up to date often enough, especially in this thread.
I post somewhat more often on a twitter (https://twitter.com/saloontf) or tf.tv though that’s probably one thing I could improve.
Saloon.tf is still under active development, but since my rl has taken an unexpected turn I cannot put as many hours into it as I’d like (especially since there are other projects I am working on).
Don’t worry though, I hope it’ll see the light soon.
Money’s tight as always, but it’s not an issue. If I cared about it at all I wouldn’t even start this project :)
