An idea for the organisers. I think a lot of players / teams are a little concerned about the amount of sign ups to the event, and therefore are holding back paying until more people pay up. This is obviously bad if a large number of players are thinking this way and could result in them not paying up at all because they are under the impression that not enough people are going.
Maybe you could implement some kind of system that would encourage players to sign up and be entitled to a full refund at a certain date. Say, 1 week from now they get 12 hours to cancel their ticket and get a refund. This might encourage people to pay up which in turn could lead to others to pay up which might make them want to attend the event.
Not sure if this makes perfect sense, but I think you get what I mean so I won’t bother going into it anymore lol.
Just a thought, might not be possible but meh!
We will refund every payment we receive in case we have to cancel the event.

If anyone can drink a pint quicker than myself, I will pay them 10 euros!!! If they lose, they can buy me a drink.

No not quite like that amon. The problem with that is, if you don’t cancel the event, but just have a small one, people won’t be happy. What I meant was an option to sign up now, and cancel your ticket for any reason for say, the next week. If they don’t cancel by the end of the week, then they can no longer get a refund. (End of the week being a set date that you guys would set).
I can’t think of a decent way to explain it without blabbing on and repeating over and over, so i’ll just give an example.

AcidReniX wants to attend the event, but he’s only seen 3 teams signed up. He doesn’t want to pay for a ticket with only 3 teams signed up. When more people sign up, he will pay for his ticket.
The community LAN gives all players an option. They can sign up and pay now, and then they can get a full refund up until the 28th of June (random date). They can refund their ticket for any reason (not enough signups etc..)
So AcidReniX signs up and pays knowing he can cancel it for sure if only 3 teams are still signed up by the 28th of June.
Other people in AcidReniX’s situation do the same thing. Suddenly there are a lot of sign ups and AcidReniX no longer wants to cancel his ticket because a lot more people are attending.
AcidReniX is happy!

Ah yeah Arx I thought you would mean that. Looking at the time that’s possible until Friday night 23.59. :P It’s a good idea, but it is just too late for that kind of things.
We have to make a decision about the event this weekend, so we can’t have any cancels after that. And paying now, but canceling later this week seems a bit strange to me. :) If that would make you feel good guys: please do!

arx its not like you get a refund on your plane ticket, if you intend to come i would presume you would have already bought one. This ofc doesnt apply to driving a car, however, afaik you do need to buy a special sticker if you drive through france and belgium, this doesnt apply to a ferry trip

One thing I don’t get here is why teams led by LAN organizers still haven’t paid. Great example for others.
If your refering to YYT we don’t have a team for TCL unfortunately due to player availability.. hopefully a Vale mix will replace our spot :)
other orgs need a kick idd ;P
