hey, back again with an update on fastlane, me and dave worked on what was called cp_fastlane_pro however since its completion I have decided upon and name cp_prolane_v1. this was mainly done due to the confusion between the other pro_fastlane.

I have been working pretty hard on this map and I can officaly annouce the first final version of cp_prolane_v1. I hope that pickup channels and possibly a one night cup can go ahead to try and impliment this map after playtesting proved to be very sucesessful.

It includes the following alterations:

* Spawn have been slightly redesigned with the entrances moved back from the capture point but the middle wall still remaining where it was initially.
* Health cabinets have been moved to more appropriate areas so that people cant just stand in spawn and spam last.
* Boxes have been added to the top corridor to aid the defensive team.
* Lighting has been improved within the last point.
* The Steps on last are now flush against the wall to improve splash damage.
* Glitches in the room where the healthpacks were contained where the player cud get stuck have been removed.
* On middle the metal plate has been rotated 180 degrees so that middle is idential and both teams scouts can now double jump up on cp3.
* Spawn times have been increase by around 3 – 5 seconds for both teams. After some playtesting this can be easily adjusted, I have inititally set this figure as a test to see how the map now plays out.
*Capture times have been lowered on middle and 2nd (they are more like the values on gran) Should the opposition lose middle the spawntimes and captimes work out so that it is still possible to rebuild and regroup on 2nd to defend it.
*I have removed some small health packs – the small ones in the alleys of the right and left of middle and the one of 2nd point in the building on the right if your defending.

I would just like to thank everyone who has help me map this and has playtested it over the past couple of nights to get it too the best standard possible.

Thanks for the positive comments guys, we’ve really tried to do what was needed and listen to community feedback.

Hopefully with some more playtesting, with pickups and a one night cup being the perfect test, we’ll be able to get the final version perfect :)

I like everything except for the medpack removals: keeping them makes area control and learning item respawn times important- Quake/deathmatch-esque

yea, i know what you mean but there are a ridiculous amount of medpacks on this map, especially around second point. Regarding middle point, there is a large medpack right next to it.

imo putting a timer in the top corner of the screen on that promod thing would be pretty cool instead of having to bash tab or make a script

There will be a TF2 update next week. Maybe the cp_fastlane update by his creator will be in it, so there is no need of any pro fastlane.

A red M represents a Medium Healthkit.
A green S represents a Small Healthkit.

I’ve tried to stack the health to the defender’s side as the offensive team already have the spawn times in their favour.

The larger packs are farther away from point three which should nerf the survivability of scouts a little.

Anakin, you always assume that in every update that comes out, valve will fix exactly what is wrong with the subject of the topic. I’ve not seen them fix any of it in any of their ‘updates coming out soon’ so far, so maybe its best to plan for the worst..?

And who knows? Spnce’s map may be better than the creator’s fix :D
