Lets clear some elements up in regards to some confusion we saw after last news post combined with changing up medal eligibility.

Who gets medals?

We’re returning medal eligibility to the old format however, we’ll revisit this in the future season, with possible roster size reduction instead.

Who gets what medal?

First to third place stay the same.
Winners of the first group stage will get the old playoff design if they don’t reach a placement medal.
Participant medals get determined by your final group stage placement.

Late Joiners Group Stage #1

For Group Stage #1 we’ll be alleviating the stress of teams a little bit by allowing late joiners that match the teams skill seeding, similar to the default merc rule. Keep in mind that all these changes still have to go through a staff member and the roster lock will still be present. Here is the ruling:

For all divisions players cannot be more experienced (in accordance with rule 2.7) or rostered in a team higher than the tier of the team they want to join. Experience in other leagues is also included.

Adjustments to the 2nd group stage

We’re planning some adjustments to the 2nd group stage in terms of tournament structure. However we keep going back and forth a little bit in terms of what the best way to handle the second group stage. So we’re keeping out potential changes in the back pocket for now and watching how the first group stage unfolds first.
Regardless of the change in structure, the schedule should remain the same.
