Priorities change for everyone at some point and the time has come for several staff members to move on. We would like to thank them all for the time and effort they put into this league and wish they succeed in their future projects, be it in real life or in another game.

Crack Clan vs Vinland Incident
During their Week 3 Premiership match, 
The frenchy survived had requested to play with higher FOV enabled via a server plugin and 
Team Infused refused, as permitted by our rules. Unhappy with their decision, 
Darn from The frenchy survived insulted the other team in Finnish, but started the match regardless. However, it was clear from the get-go that Darn wasn’t up to playing and after 4 rounds he simply quit the the game, abruptly terminating a match that was being casted by both VanillaTV and TeamFortressTV, with more than 400 people watching.
Darn‘s behavior was highly disrespectful towards his opponents, the casters, the spectators and his own team. For insulting the other team with comments of a racially abusive nature and disrupting a live casted Premiership match, he receives a one-match ban, and The frenchy survived will be warned for flaming.
A Rule Change
Originally we had allowed teams to raise the FOV cap upon mutual agreement, but it is now clear how this exception can cause unnecessary confusion and conflict. As such, using server plugins to achieve a higher FOV is no longer allowed, regardless of whether both teams agree on its use.
Usage of server plugins to raise the FOV cap is now covered by General Rule 5.4 Unusual server settings may be considered cheating, and may result in the match result being refused and the teams involved receiving penalties.

They need to admit that the first thing that popped into their heads when they saw the TFTrue request wasn’t “Oh no, it’ll hold us back” but rather
“This looks like a great opportunity to disarm darn!”. (Which they’ve basically endorsed already)
I’d have a lot more respect for ipz if he’d just admit that he’s villainous and doesn’t care, rather than trying to act like there was nothing wrong with
what they did. Then cc can remove all pretences and assume their new role as the boogie-man of prem.
But I guess you can’t really do that with such a big org breathing down your neck.

Kaidus, during the autobots incident, ETF2L had different head and league admins. It is also a long time ago (as implied). At the time, the staff discussed that issue and made a decision that seemed correct then (whether or not it was in hindsight is completely irrelevant).
Same story now. Different admins, relatively different ruleset, different point in time.
ETF2L has and always will continue to better itself. That isn’t a process that has a finish line. There will never be a point in time where we can say “There, we’ve done it, we are perfect now”, nor should we want that – there are always things we can improve on and we will always strive for exactly that.
To throw in an incidentally relevant example: Between then and now, one of the more significant rule changes include the Premiership-only ruleset, which exists primarily with casting professionalism in mind. Two years ago (give or take) we didn’t really care what name you called yourself in a prem game, or when you would schedule your game, or how awkward you’d make it for casting organisations to keep up and arrange their stuff, etc., etc..
Also I think it’s worth mentioning that the autobots incident involved offensive behaviour aimed at a member of staff. That is simply unacceptable. We are merely volunteers, after all.
Constructive criticism is welcome. Misinformed jabs such as the post this is a reply to, less so – it doesn’t achieve much other than waste time of the admin to get baited (fml).

seems it should be fine if both teams agree.. just cause one child reacted immaturely shouldnt mean the possibility is removed for everyone else.

Darn is a competitor. As a competitor, you do your best to put yourself in the optimal position to win. It was pretty clear to everyone with more than 3 brain cells that higher FoV was going the way of the dinosaur eventually, so any reasonable competitor should have been switching, or at least preparing themselves for the possibility that he might not be able to play with a higher FoV. That’s what every other player who’d previously been using OpenPlugin did.
The example here I’d use is that fighting game tournaments have been using PS3 even though Xbox clearly runs the gamer better. The players don’t play on Xbox then through a tantrum when they get to the event, they get a PS3, practice on that at home, then turn up and play. Sure they’ll complain about it, but when you’re a competitor you’ve got to accept the rules and run with them.
Every ban for racism so far has been 2 months at least and we ban a player for one match? Sounds like a good example for lower div players, you can flame all you want and the worst you get is one match ban.

Agree with Skyride and Vlijm – If you want to show example what happens if you flame, don’t give 1 match ban. You give month or 2 ban to strike fear in players hearts.

That is all Darn’s problem. You can’t expect a team to allow it.
Everyone who still plays with a higher fov after openplugin got banned kripples himself because it is disabled on nearly every server by default. Tftrue might have been a good way to play in the first week after but still it was very predictable that you haad to go back to 90fov at some point.
Also I can understand ipz. why would they allow it if they won’t use it themselves anymore? get used to it or play an other game. Darn’s behavour deserved the reaction.
And Fov90 has been the limit in tf2 forever. Sneaky players know how to abuse this. higher fov is unnessecary. gj etf2l
You cant discuss the use of the FOV really, it’s a personal thing. And with high resolution you can achieve higher fov’s even without using any plugins. The problem was caused by a somewhat sketchy rule. And this has been dealt with by the admins. So I think they did well here :)
A one match ban in prem is supposed to be a big deal, it just doesn’t feel like it.

Anakin or Casual, smart and well-known persons, spent a lot of time to give high fov possibility for any tf2 player. A lot of people try to explain to you that it doesn’t give you any kind of advantage.
What does the other part of community say? “hackers cheaters learn2play ban fov omg”
How about some arguments? Who cares. And i’m sure, the most part of that people use that tricky shadow settings to see enemy through walls, or this (thx cc, now i dont need to listen to ingame sounds)

Since everyone apparently wants “professionalism” to be active in this league and in this game, why don’t you enforce for example using proper names? Using a joke/troll name shouldn’t be allowed even if submitted to the admins, I don’t think it looks really professional when 500+ people are watching and your scout is named “xXASSBANGERXx”.
Just have a like 1 name change per year for prem players and all names have to be approved by an admin. No one will call smzi shelikesitrough so it’s fucking retarded to allow him to have that name.

The community is still not mature enough to discuss a rule like the one with the plugin. So I think it was a good move on the FOV plugin.
On another note, it’s hella funny how the admins handle all sort of racism, trolling and jerking around. Cannot see any sense or like some other prem idiot said: “i cant talk sense into everyone”…he was once right about something.

Taimou had a history of trolling and insulting others spanning over three years, and two permanent forum & comment bans. After the second ban, he changed his team name to a racist statement in defiance, and thus we turned to the last punishment we had left.
Autobots had 5 players change their nicknames both on the site and in-game, in an act of targeted abuse against one player. If they didn’t already have 4 minor warnings at the time, they would not have been dropped for their offense.
It’s worth noting that while Darn’s behavior was completely unacceptable, this was his first offense in his multi-year ETF2L history, and his offensive statements appeared to be the result of a single emotional outburst, rather than another entry in a long record of abuse. Comparing this case to that of Autobots or Taimou is completely out of place.
@Muuki; new viewers won’t know who anyone is. The rule is there mainly for the casters anyway (ie not necessarily the viewers).
When I started watching Dota games like 2 weeks ago, I could instantly start recognizing names in different games and started to know them, their playstyles, which heroes they are known for etc. I would never have an idea if they were named in the fashion that happens here.
Just ditch the “professionalism” idea if you won’t stick to it in all aspects
as a frequent dota stream viewer i can tell you that people switch their names like you switch your underwear
casters just recognize them and their position/heroes cuz dota has way more attenion in comparison to tf2
PS: pls dont make up more problems in the cc vs vinland game than there actually are, both teams learned a lesson i guess

You are comparing apples with oranges… If you hadn’t had 4 minor warnings for previous rule breaks anyway, you would have been able to continue playing. Also, everyone of you was free to join a different team and play for them in the same season. How is that a ban?
You are also missing the point with your comment. It was our intention to punish Darn rather than his team, as they seem to be largely innocent. In your case it was 5 of 6 players picking on one player of the enemy team.
