Highlander Season 4 powered by BlackOut Gaming!

It’s time for another season of Highlander – this time supported by the wonderful BlackOut Gaming community! Please swing by on one of their servers next time you are looking for a fun public gaming session. We have some changes in store for Season 4 to be announced in upcoming newsposts – today we’ll start off with the prizes, weapon banlist and provisional map schedule for the season.

Signups & Full Schedule

Signups will open Monday 25th February and close Friday 8th March at 23:59 CEST.

  • Seeding: March 6 – 9
  • Provisional divs made public: March 9
  • Schedule Week: March 10 – 16
  • Main Season: March 17 – April 20 (5 weeks)
  • Catch-up Week: April 21 – 27
  • Tiebreakers and Playoffs: April 28 – May 19

Season 4 Unlocks

ETF2L Season 4 will use the same banlist for unlocks as UGC Season 9, in order to improve experience for players involved in both leagues. The only difference between the two whitelists is the High-Five taunt – it remains banned in ETF2L, as it allows players to peek through walls on certain maps without the downsides associated with regular taunts.

Provisional map schedule

After much internal debate, we’ve arrived at the following provisional map list and week structure:

  • Week 1: pl_badwater
  • Week 2: cp_gullywash_final1 + koth_lakeside_final
  • Week 3: pl_swiftwater_ugc
  • Week 4: cp_steel
  • Week 5: pl_upward

Please note that this is a provisional map list and may undergo changes based on user feedback. Teams are invited to discuss the maplist and provide constructive feedback in [this] thread.

Prizes

The Season 4 Premiership teams play for their share of the total cash prize of €1,000, generously provided by BlackOut Gaming. The distribution is as follows:

  • Premiership winner: €500
  • Premiership runner-up: €350
  • Premiership third place: €150

Medals

As in previous seasons and thanks to Valve Software and Ruskeydoo, players in all divisions will receive in-game medals for winning the group, as well as participation medals for finishing the season. The Premiership Division will have gold, silver and bronze medals for the first three places.
