Multi-week funcup: NA Map format and Unlocks
While watching the exciting ESEA S11 Finals, we couldn’t help but think: what would happen if we were to thrust our european vanilla-loving turtles into a fierce saffron-flavored race to 5 caps?
Only one way to find out!
For this cup, we’ll attempt to emulate the North American 6v6 experience – ESEA map format, class limits and weapon bans. Or as close as we can get using configs, at least.
Map rules
- 1 map per match
- Each map is played in 2 rounds, 30 minutes each.
- First round is played with mp_winlimit 3, second round with mp_winlimit 0.
- A break of 10 minutes is allowed between rounds.
- The score is kept across rounds, and the first team to reach 5 total captures wins *
- If scores are tied after two rounds, an Overtime round is played.
- Overtime rules: timelimit 30, winlimit 1. First team to cap wins. If neither team caps in 30 minutes, restart round and continue until first cap.
* Since we are not using a client or server plugins, the score between rounds must be tracked manually by both teams.

Any unlocks not on the list are allowed, unless they have been released during the funcup.

Special rules
Class limits: 1 Medic, 1 Demoman, 1 Heavy, 1 Engineer, 2 for other classes.
As with all funcups, 2 mercs allowed by default.
For everything else, standard ETF2L 6v6 rules apply.
Cup format and schedule
The cup will be single elimination with 7 days per match and will follow this schedule:
- Round of 8: August 1-7, map cp_badlands
- Semi-finals: August 8-14, map cp_granary
- Finals: August 15-21, map cp_snakewater
Signing up
As with previous funcups, it is also possible to enter this cup using a Fun Team, which can be setup in the normal way using the page found [here].
Signups will be open until this Tuesday, 22 CEST. Brackets and fixtures will be up by midnight.

does the etf2l_nacup_round1.cfg also exec the correct whitelist, or will we have to fix that in some other way?
It execs the correct whitelist *unless* you are using a Multiplay server. If you are, you will have to add your server id to the path, like mp_tournament_whitelist “90080/cfg/etf2l_nacup_blacklist.txt”.
