To kick off Season 19 and give teams an opportunity to play cp_logjam_b9 (or whichever the latest version is) before the actual season begins, we decided to host another cup.
In addition to introducing the map it will give teams new to ETF2L a chance to try out the whole ‘official match’ process and result submission before the actual season – hopefully decreasing the amount of mistakes during the actual season.
Depending on the number of signups there will be several brackets to accommodate different skill levels, each consisting of four groups of four teams each. This cups group stage will be played on Sunday, September 14th. The top two teams from each group will proceed into the knockout stages on Tuesday, September 16th. If any tiebreakers are needed after the group stages they will be played on Monday, September 15th.
Both standard 6v6 and fun teams are eligible to enter the cup and can sign up here. Don’t forget that one default merc will be allowed – so your 6v6 team might just be viable after all! Both signup lists will be merged for the actual seedings, it doesn’t matter in which one you sign up.
Sign ups will close on Friday, September 12th at 23:59CEST or when there’s a total of 128 sign ups, whichever occurs first. Teams signing up after will be considered as replacement teams for teams dropping on short notice!
Extremely valuable prizes in the form of pixel trophies await the top four teams of each bracket!
Just to recap the schedule:
Group Stages – Sunday, September 14th
- 20:00 – Round 1
- 20:45 – Round 2
- 21:30 – Round 3
Tiebreakers – Monday, September 15th
- 20:00 – teams can play at an alternative time on Monday if both teams agree
Knockout Stages – Tuesday, September 16th
- 20:00 – Quarter-Finals
- 20:45 – Semi-Finals
- 21:30 – Finals
All matches will be scheduled via default dates, no manual scheduling will be needed.
Because it is a cup, one merc is allowed by default (and up to two if the opponents agree)!
The default merc can’t be more experienced than the overall team.
Teams caught using a merc that’s too experienced without the explicit approval of their opponents will get their match defaulted and potentially be expelled from the competition.
Standard ETF2L 5CP rules will apply for this cup which you can find on our General Rules page. In short: Timelimit 30, Windifference 5. If the score is equal after the timelimit is reached a Golden Cap will be played. The team that scores a round first during that GC wins the whole map.
Make sure to download the map (use the correct version!) and check if your server is using the ETF2L 6v6 s19 configs & whitelist.
Please leave all feedback regarding the map in the relevant forum thread.
You can download cp_logjam_b9 here. Make sure to check if you have the most current version on cup night!
Further details will be posted in upcoming news posts.
