So, season 10 is over.
We got a 3rd place in our division, but let's be honest – it wasn't the easiest division at all, and we were lacking practice half of the time.
Long story short: Mr. G wanted to play scout, Coco wanted a more active team, and Link just doesn't seem it's right to reform without those two. I'd like to wish all the good luck to them in the future.
Let’s get start.
Who we are: we are a nice bunch of guys who enjoy playing together, have enough skill to compete on the level we are aiming for and who just like chilling out in mumble before/after the games are played.
What our aim for now is: we are definitely going to the division 3 next season and that is the minimum we are gonna start practicing our games from. I don't want to say anything particular right now, but if we get good results we might even push div2 next season.
What we are looking for:
A medic. Being a main caller and having division 3 experience is appreciated, but we will still trial you if you only had div4 experience and think you can handle our level.
A pair of soldiers. Division 3 or top division 4 experience is obligate. You should always be calm, listen to your medic, and not rage at all – it’s medic’s job. Also, if you already played together it is a huge plus.
We are playing 4 nights a week (sun-thurs with one day-off), 3-4 maps a day, so, be ready for this.
If you are interested, you can contact me through steam starting this Sunday, since I’m going away for a weekend. After that we will talk about trials.

I think they lost their 3 most capable and consistent players, so 3/2 may be a bit ambitious.
But there’s absolutely nothing wrong with ambition, so GL with your search.

Trane, all of our team’s players were/are capable and consistent, and I don’t think div3/2 is that ambitious since it is the level we had been playing on right before losing Coco, Mr. G and Link.
All I know about turbo is that when he is in the middle of a mix, but gets offered a mix that he would rather play. He pulls the plug on his internet, sets steam to offline, and goes to play the different mix, not giving a bear of thought about the 11 people he just left stranded. Its pretty much the least panda thing you can do in tf2.. :(
GL finding players for div2, last I heard you were playing div3 pcw pretty solidly, im sure you will do well :).

dodgydogman, the one and only time turb0 did it was when we had to play a clan war match, and he didn’t want to disappoint guys in a mix. Kind of stupid, but happened one time only, and not because he was offered a different mix.
Turbo has done it to dodgy before when I asked him to mix with me. I’d watch out for turbo, hes a sneaky one.
Not from what iv heard from players on the team, that it wasn’t for a pcw and hes done it more than once, however.
I find it hard to believe that:
1. You dont have days/times that you generally pcw, so to easily not mix when you know you are going to pcw.
2. He couldnt tell his team that he was in a mix and that he was an idiot for getting it and would have to finish the mix.
3. He couldnt tell the mix that his team needed him for a pcw and only leave after you have got a merc for the mix instead of just leaving the team to sort it out.
4. His team mates didnt ask him why he was set as offline, and when they found out told him that it was a insanely shitty thing to do and to go back and get a merc or at least tell them.. Maybe thats just me..
He was a nice enough person, just that kind of thing is ridiculously selfish :( but hopefully doesn’t reflect him as a whole..

What dodgydogman is trying to say, is that I put my team above all else. I dont even have time for a goodbye when they ask me to play; if that dedication isnt what a potential trialist is looking for then i dont know what is.

Louis, players are most likely looking for a team that is good natured and frankly classy. The response for getting caught doing something dicky and selfish shouldnt be try and lie about it and make jokes, as all that is doing is strengthening the possibility that your team isnt a very nice group of people. Not all press is good press.

I see of this situation less like getting milk for my mum, more of me playing basketball with my friends. I am going for a basket and I see a child playing in the road in front of oncoming traffic. It doesnt matter how important the game is or how much they want me to score, im going to save that child. Quitting your mix doesnt make me a douche it makes me a hero, saving the life of my team and leaving your mix.
I have no idea why you are bringing this up randomly when it happened more than a few weeks ago and to bring it up on our recruitment post is just low. If you really want to try and humiliate me publicly for whatever reason im fine with that but imo i would rather do this over steam chat and not waste anyones time or dissuade potential recruits.

Even though you are obviously trolling at this point as nobody could really think that makes any sense, its fun to break down silly arguments.
I used an analogy to help you both explain my argument again but address your previous argument. In the analogy, the mother represents your team, the people in the line represents the mixers that you annoyed. Cutting in line represents the thing you did.
In your analogy the basket ball team represents your team, the basket I guess represents your team wanting to mix (which in itself isnt a good representation and is obviously trying to make out your team’s need to pcw more important that it really is) but who is the kid and what is the traffic supposed to mean!?

Your playing basketball with a group of friends. A second group asks you to play. You simply walk away from the first group and then go play with the second group, instead of simply finishing the match, finding a replacement player or simply telling the truth.

You aren’t doing them a favour by ‘warning them about neXt’ and you arent doing neXt any favours by trying to push your point of view where its not wanted. If you look at my initial reply, it consisted of a concern I had about the team, but that they would do fine in div3.
They reply with a lie. I inform them that their reply is wrong and it escalates.
My flaw is that I need to get the last word in. His fault is that he leaves mixes without giving a shit and lies about it when its brought up.
Recruitments posts are simply walls for people to post OMG PLAYED WITH TEAM LUV U, they are for people to post what they think of the team, in order to allow recruiters to gage whether they would be a good fit for the team.
No reason to resort to insults..
Chaplain, I think there is always place for negative comments on recruitment posts if they are warranted. It’s entirely possible to have a good trial and end up joining a team that later turns out to be a bunch of dickbags (not saying this is the case here). Likewise a team searching for a player deserves to know if they have reliability/rage issues – I’ve been glad of respected opinions myself when recruiting players.
It’s kinda sad what you did Turbo, and it’s more sad that you seem to be trying to maintain the high-ground by not apologising when it in fact has the direct opposite effect. It would reflect on you much better if you just said “Yeah, sorry about that”.

Im sorry trane, but I dont think there is a place. If they are potential things to work on then fair enough, but your opinion of a so called ‘dickbag’ is entirely different to another mans, and putting this down isnt suitable. I have been the victim of it a few times where sour people have put stuff down on my recruitment posts, making teams decide not to trial me, which later merced me and thought i would have been perfect for the spot. If you have some beef with the person take it up with them. I think this discussion has gone on long enough, and i dont think next should be suffering for this (and also i think putting a comment about turbo was unwarranted too, especially considering its not just his rec post) if you guys would be willing to discuss the finer points of recruitment post commenting, then I am available, as always, in #vanillatv or through steam, and I’d love to do so, but for now dodgy, try and improve on your ‘flaw’ and don’t get the last word in. It doesnt make look like a better man, and it doesnt make you a victor; there are no victors here and the only losers are neXt gaming, whos recruitment post we have defaced due to concerns about a player, the basis of which was created weeks ago.

In my eyes, working on conducting yourself in a better manner would fit that bill (i.e.) not letting down a group of 11 friends and acquaintances. Maybe that’s just me, I value conduct and respect quite highly and am very dictatorial in making sure my team does their best to follow suit.
Also, the fact this happened ‘weeks ago’ makes the act history and almost irrelevant?
In the very first instance, someone did something wrong, it could have gone away immediately if it was apologised for or even acknowledged. Would you agree?
