ETF2L is looking for new Staff to recruit! Are you interested in supporting the league? Then click here for more details on what we can offer and how to apply!
The signups are closed, we have reached the massive amount of 380 players. With a cup tree of 512 slots, this means we will have a lot of teams instantly going to round 2. The cup will have a strict schedule of 1 round per week. With the size of the cup we can allow no exceptions. If a match result isn’t submitted Sunday at 23:59 CEST, we will flip a coin to decide who goes to the next round.
Please check the cup tree to see your first match. For those who have to play a round 1 match:
Round 1 – match deadline: Sunday 3 May, 23:59 CEST
Winlimit: 30 points. Points difference should be 2 points or more. This means: You can’t win with 30-29, you have to continue untill there are 2 points difference. Example: 31-29, 32-30 etcetera.
For every round: Both players should stand in front of their resupply door and jump 3 times to show that you’re ready. Only after both teams have jumped three times, you can begin shooting.
You cannot leave the arena once you’ve entered it. (except when your opponent is dead)
The winner receives € 50,-
Scout 2on2 cup round 4
It is time for round 4 already. 16 teams are left in this fight to find out who is the best scout duo. We’ve seen some big names go down already so this proves to be an interesting cup. Let’s hope it continues to be that way.
With the signups going so fast, we were able to start, and finish our provisional seedings well ahead of schedule. This is when you will find out in which division we have placed you. It is only a general indication, ranging from div 1 to 6, later on you will be split into groups of 10 teams. The seedings can be found here:
These seedings are not 100% set, you can’t claim anything based upon them, butwe’ve worked hard to make them as final as possible. If you think your team is misplaced, too high or too low, you can notify us of this. Wherever possible and reasonable, we will try to put you in another division. Generally, requests to play in a lower division will always be granted. If you want to notify us, please use the following procedure:
Give us proof that you are capable of playing in the division you requested. This means: screenshots of matches where we can see you are capable of winning against teams from the division you want to play in. Official matches will be vastly more important than PCW’s. Please try to submit results from official matches as much as possible.
Anything else that you think might help.
Note: any appeals must be emailed before Sunday 26 April, 23:59 CEST to be considered.
Season 5: division 1 playoff
One of the teams that was heading for division 1 in season 5, Nervous.tf2, sadly dropped. This left us with a gap in that divisions. Two clear candidates have arisen who in our eyes can compete in division 1. These are Team YoYoTech and Level Up, containing a lot of previous Nervois.tf2 members. For them to decide which one can take the last division 1 spot, which can’t be gained without a fight, we will hold a playoff match between these two teams. This match will be held under the usual playof-conditions. Maps; cp_granary, cp_badlands (and cp_gravelpit as decider). Each map must have a winner. When tied, a golden cap will be played. We wish both teams the best of luck in this match. Hopefully we will be able to arrange some coverage, details will follow.
Season 5: map pool
The map pool votes have been closed. The majority has decided the following: cp_freight will be moved to the primary map pool (and changed to the final version, as opposed to the b3 version which we used in season 4), pl_badwater and ctf_well will be removed from the secondary map pool. They can only be chosen from the 3rd map pool now, and not directly. The season 5 map pool is the following:
Primary map pool (maps can be chosen 3x by each team):
cp_badlands
cp_granary
cp_well
cp_gravelpit
cp_fastlane
cp_freight
ctf_turbine
Secondary map pool (maps can be chose 1x by each team):
cp_dustbowl
cp_labor
ctf_2fort
ctf_mach4
pl_goldrush
Season 5: dates
With the sped-up sign ups, we have found room to speed up things with season 5 in general. This will move the season further away from the summer, which we hope is a good thing. We have moved everything 1 week forward. The new dates are the following:
Thursday 23rd april: publishing of provisional seedings
Sunday 26th april: final date to submit request to change division
Tuesday 28th april: publishment of final divisions, map picks open
Sunday 3rd may: map picks close
Monday 4th may: week 1 starts
Monday 11th may: week 2 starts
Sunday 17th may: week 1 match deadline
Monday 18th may: week 3 starts
Sunday 24th may: week 2 match deadline
etcetera.
Clanban
Sadly, some individuals has once again felt the urge to gamble and challenge faith by using unfair methods — “importing” a banned player under a new account. Previously banned cheater Berg decided to resurface as Prefect in the very same clan (Noreaction) as he previously played with. This fact could not have escaped the management of the Noreaction team, and we have thus decided to ban the entire clan from ETF2L Season 5. Yet again, we sincerely hope it’s the last ban we ever have to hand out.
As we already reached 340 Sign Ups for our upcoming Sold 1on1 Cup we decided to size it up to 512 slots. Everyone who haven’t signed yet but still want to participate in the biggest 1on1 competition in the history of TF2 have time till this Wednesday, 23:59 CEST.

50 € prize money for the winner
Slots: Up to 512

Map: duel_duel2_pro
Schedule: strict 1 match per week rhythmus [Round 1 starting this Thursday]
To decide which map pool we are going to use in season 5, we’ve thought about some public polls for you to help us make the decision. First we have the season 4 mappool for you:
Primary (each map can be chose 3 times): cp_granary, cp_fastlane, cp_badlands, cp_gravelpit, cp_well, ctf_turbine
Secondary (each map can be chosen 1 time): cp_dustbowl, cp_freight, cp_labor, ctf_2fort, ctf_mach4, ctf_well, pl_goldrush, pl_badwater
This was the map pool as we used it in season 4. We want to incorporate some changes for season 5. We’ve chosen 2 of the least played maps in season 4: ctf_well and pl_badwater, and nominated them for removal. Also, we are considering moving cp_freight to the primary map pool. You can vote for, or against these changes in the polls below.

Also, in season 4, division 1 played exclusively with maps from the primary map pool, on their request. We are considering expanding this to division 2. Every division 2 team has the right to cast a vote: whether they solely want to play maps from the primary map pool (= like division 1 in season 4), or also those from the secondary map pool (= what it is now for most divs) . Each team can vote 1 time in the topic found here [Link].
Another thing we’ve heard some people ask for, is fixed maps, set by the league, instead of maps chosen by the players themselves. These calls came especially from the higher divisions. Therefor we have decided to hold another set of polls for this: 1 for division 1, and another for division 2. Again, each team can cast 1 vote, for or against fixed maps. Division 1 teams can vote here: [Link] Division 2 teams can vote here [Link] .
We will decide over the fate of the mapping contest maps once the mapping contest has ended.

With some delay I am happy to announce 12 maps have been submitted for our Mapping Contest. The amount and quality of the maps is amazing! A very big thanks to all mappers who put much effort in their work. Hopefully some maps will bring some freshness in competitive TF2 gaming.
A judge of known players (like F2, nvc, Renegade) will reduce the submissions to a Top 5 which is hopefully done by coming Sunday. After that there will be another phase (which isn’t decided yet) to decide the winner. The winner map will be part of upcoming ETF2L competitions and will get its own 1-Day-Cup – also some other sort of prizes are in the discuss…
The nomination phase ended last Sunday, thanks to all people who took part and made their nominations. Now it’s time for the official public poll phase which will decide the award winners. All polls will close Sunday night – winners and player of the season poll will be announced on Monday. Have fun voting!
