Prize Money and Tournament Details Announced

This is a news post to alert everyone to the fact that i42, the Multiplay LAN in Newbury, England, is right around the corner!

The i42 falls on an English bank holiday this time, so no need to book off time from work. Just come and enjoy yourselves and big up the TF2 Massive! It will be held on a weekend, between the 22nd and the 25th of April, 2011.

Tonight 3 more playoffs are to be played containing, easily, the most anticipated of them all!

Flai Gaming vs. renoB

Starting things off at 20:45 CET will be the Finns Flai Gaming taking on renoB to compete for that division 3 spot. Flai have had a somewhat better season 8 than renoB, but nevertheless, this should prove to be a good game with both teams desperately wanting the division 3 place.

Gamerzone vs. MTF.Gaming – Paroxysm

Tonight at 21:15 CET will see the game between Gamerzone and MTF.Gaming – Paroxysm to decide who takes the spot in the premiership division for season 9. This will no doubt be an awesome game as there are huge stakes on the line. Gamerzone recently lost their medic Cuspide, and with merc medic Taimou, will they be able to overcome the language barrier and take out a solid looking Paroxysm to keep their premiership place?

GIANTS Gaming vs. n2o-gaming.TF2

Also at 21:15 we will see fellow spaniards GIANTS Gaming go head to head with the Germans at n2o-gaming.TF2 to decide who moves up to division 1 and who will stay in division 2. With n2o losing scout .stefan to Blight, how will this affect their gameplay? Will they be able to remain composed and structured or fall to pieces at the hands of the GIANTS?

Playoffs resume

There isn’t just highlander games coming up, the first playoffs have already taken place but there’s plenty of action left. In the premiership playoffs we saw Epsilon picking Dignitas as their opponent for the semi-finals and securing a close victory against them. The other semi-finals will feature Blight and PwR gaming. The winner will go onto the final and play epsilon for the Season 8 title.

Apologies for the delay in doing this the lack of resources, means I have to do everything =) Anyway I’ve synced the audio files and clipped them, just read the text file and follow the demo tick rates mentioned in there and play the audio file corresponding with the demo and it should sync up pretty nice.

Unfortunately we have found quite a number of players cheating. Their cases have been processed and they will all be banned for 1 year. A number of teams will see the matches in which they used a cheater affected, in case the player was used in more then 2 matches the team will be placed off-season and not automatically be eligible for possible promotion. Teams can still prove themselves by the usual procedure of mailing screenshots and results to request a higher seeding for season 9.

In addition to those we have found a clan involved in account sharing fraud to get a merc into play. Said merc, the leaders and all involved and players of the team will be banned until season 9 ends. We also found 2 banned cheaters trying to return under a new alias, they will see 1 year added to their ban.

Staff changes

The admin staff page hasn’t been updated for a while and you might have noticed a few faces. Perfect time for a formal newspost introduction on some lovely additions to the ETF2L admin team. First up is  Mvp who is helping to support the top end of tf2.   Ashkan who has helped us a lot with the highlander challenge and did great work on organizing the mix-up match will also be joining. And of course  CanFo who has already proven himself to be a very good and hardworking admin. In addition, Huhy and basH have both joined the Anti-cheat staff to combat the high workload, and cheaters. Lastly, we will have to say goodbye to flame who will be leaving the admin staff due to time constraints. Lots of thanks to him for his efforts!
