Welcome to the Highlander Winter 2024 Mid Quarter Finals!

This match will be played as a best-of-three.

Maps will be decided using the following Map Elimination System:

Both teams need to agree on who eliminates first. If the two teams cannot agree, they need to perform a heavy fist fight. The winner of this heavy fist fight can decide if he wants to start of if the other team should.

    Team A bans a map
    Team B bans a map
    Team B picks a map
    Team A picks a map
    Team B bans a map
    Team A bans a map
The remaining map is the decider

    Good luck for both teams!

There is no time limit. The map is played as a best of three rounds using the “ABBA Format”, regardless of whether it appears multiple times (during the regular season) or only once (during the playoffs stage) in the official match’s page. The team that first wins two rounds wins the map.

    Dear teams,

It has come to our attention that team “Razzmatazz” used an unapproved merc

1.3. Mercenary (“merc”) clause: no mercs allowed unless approved by the opponent:

“Mercs” or “ringers” are defined as players who are not part of a team’s roster. Players who are listed as “unverified” on a roster also count as mercs if they were listed as such at the time an official was set to start.

Teams may not use a merc at any time during a match unless the player(s) is/are granted permission to play by the team’s opponents. If a team wants to use a merc, they must contact the opponent before the match starts.

Merc permission grants are player-based and class-based: teams are free to choose whether a player is allowed to play for their opponents as a merc and which classes they are allowed to play. Classes deemed as “off-classes” (i.e. Pyro, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper and Spy) are allowed by default. If no specific classes are stated, a player allowed to play as a merc can play any class of their choice.

All agreements for merc permission grants must be logged and provided in the official match’s respective comments. Those logs must explicitly contain links to each approved mercs’ ETF2L profile. All mercs have to be registered on ETF2L.

A team can use up to a maximum of two mercs, even if the opponent would allow the use of more than two mercs.

Violations of the merc clause will result in the offending team being issued a Minor Warning. Additionally, if the offending team uses an unapproved merc or an unregistered player, the official in question will result in a Default Loss.

Therefore, minor warning has been issued to “Razzmatazz” for using an unapproved merc.

    Dear teams,

No status screenshots have been submitted for this match. Please upload the required screenshots for this match. You can do so here:
    https://etf2l.org/wp/wp-admin/index.php?page=add_screen

3.2. Status & Scoreboard screenshots required:

One member of each team has to take a console status screenshot before a match starts, and after every player switch made by a team during an official. A screenshot of the final score has to be taken at the end of every map/round. Please note that a scoreboard screenshot is not sufficient for all Attack & Defense maps as it does not show the winner – the screenshot explicitly declaring one team to be the winner is required instead. Screenshots should be uploaded while submitting the result, but can also be [uploaded] by either team leader at a later date.

If any map screenshots are missing after the match result deadline and its result has not yet been verified by the teams, both will receive a Minor Warning. Missing console status screenshots will be punished with a Minor Warning even if the teams verify the result. Repeated violations of this rule during a competition, regardless of the type of missing screenshot, will be punished with Major Warnings.

For the status screenshots to be readable by the SteamID parser bot, the screenshots are required to be taken on the Windows version of Team Fortress 2 with the default console font, Lucida Console, in use. Custom HUDs can potentially have different console fonts that cannot be read even when used on Windows OS. We recommend teams and players to ensure that the console font in use by their Team Fortress 2 clients is the default; additionally, we recommend teams to have at least one player running the Windows version of Team Fortress 2 in order to take the necessary screenshots, as OSX and Linux game clients have a different console font in use by default which cannot be parsed by the bot.

Warnings for missing screenshots can be removed by providing the missing screenshot and contacting an admin afterwards.

Therefore a minor warning has been issued to both teams. Once you have uploaded the screenshots contact an admin in our discord https://discord.etf2l.org to get the warning removed.

    Dear ETF2L admins,

it has come to our attention, that every warning, that we have received has been falsely
applied to our team, reasons being confusing to say the least.

The first incident happend during the submission of steel screenshots, valentine submitted
screenshots that according to the etf2l bot weren’t valid, thus we were issued a warning.
Alright fair enought, but explain why 9youngclowns during week 3 have not received a warning,
since they only submitted logs https://etf2l.org/matches/87853/.

The second incident during the playoffs, we found a def med merc, since we were missing our
main. The medic had experience only in open. But XPUC had their main demo join the match and
after 10 mins their demo merc joined the map (they didn’t mention that they are getting a merc
to us) they posted which merc they are using on the match page 2 min into the game and their
merc played a match in low. Can you guess who got the warning? But of course the medic who
had only open experience and was known to play for us a whole hour before the match.

Judging from the following incidents, we have come to a conclusion that admins were biased
towards other teams and always decided negatively towards us, when we did everything as
    mentioned in the rulebook.

There was also a cheating scandal going on from week 1 to week 2 yet, the admins decided
to act when week 5 was about to be played just because enought people decided to speak up.

Sincerely from the bottom of our hearts, go fuck yourselfs
