hello gilaric, I apologise for my new players not telling you in advance, but as you are aware by your usage of a default merc, we too are entilted to a default merc. You approved our non default merc, and then our 2nd merc is default due to meeting the experience required for qualifying as a default merc.

    Hope this clears things up.

    Have a lovely day,

    torn

    Dear Mr. Santaz,

Here is the information from ETF2L Rules in ‘6v6 Summer Showdown 2023’ s1.4 regarding the usage of a ‘Default Mercenary.”

“For D5/Low and D6/Open specifically they cannot be more experienced than the tier the match is being played in, and they cannot be rostered in a team placed in any tier higher than that of the official match in question. Default mercs cannot be class-restricted. Experience in other leagues is also included.

If you wish to contest the default status of a merc, please contact a League Admin on [ETF2L’s Discord server] so they may decide whether or not the player is valid for the Default merc clause.”

If you are able to point to us where the rule of requiring to provide information about the usage of a default mercenary prior to a match is, we will be further understanding of your position.

I point you towards General Rule (s)1.4 which requires that “Any agreement between two teams regarding the use of mercs or servers must be recorded on the relevant match page and cannot be retracted.”

This refers to an agreement between the approval of mercs – since this is a default merc, no “agreement” is necessary, and therefore prior acknowledgement of such is not required.

Whilst the player ‘Spurt’ was an approved merc, the etf2l admins were made aware of our intention of using a default merc ahead of time due to the player ‘Borat’ contacting them in regards to his eligibty as a default merc.

We highly suggest you read the rules in greater detail before complaining, but of course do apologise for not showing you the respect you so deserve by informing you of our intention to use a default merc. These players are new with it being their first season of 6s, and having never led a team or organised officials before, are forced to learn as they play.

If you have any further queries, please let me know.

    Kind Regards,

    torn

yes we did! we do apologise for not telling you about our additional usage of a default medic merc ontop of our approved merc. my players r new and they will make sure not to do it again.

  11. anime girl said:

sure but now you basically stole the point regardless, at least admin should give us something, cause you guys got away with 2 mercs usage and a win and we dont get to do anything about it, good shit.
Refrain from letting new people having the leader role in your team lol thanks

    stole the point?
2 merc usage is the limit?
they have to learn somehow – at most it’s a minor warning for not telling about default merc.
you are crying and default hunting over a loss vs 4 fresh meats in open season 30 whatever.

enjoy the game and gl with the rest of ur season freaks

    Dear teams,

Due to “GLUEEATERS II” using an unapproved merc the match will be defaulted in favour of “ROGIE”.

1.3. Mercenary (“merc”) clause: no mercs allowed unless approved by the opponent:

“Mercs” or “ringers” are defined as players who are not part of a team’s roster. Players who are listed as “unverified” on a roster also count as mercs if they were listed as such at the time an official was set to start.

Teams may not use a merc at any time during a match unless the player(s) is/are granted permission to play by the team’s opponents. If a team wants to use a merc, they must contact the opponent before the match starts.

Merc permission grants are player-based and class-based: teams are free to choose whether a player is allowed to play for their opponents as a merc and which classes they are allowed to play. Classes deemed as “off-classes” (i.e. Pyro, Heavy, Engineer, Sniper and Spy) are allowed by default. If no specific classes are stated, a player allowed to play as a merc can play any class of their choice.

All agreements for merc permission grants must be logged and provided in the official match’s respective comments. Those logs must explicitly contain links to each approved mercs’ ETF2L profile. All mercs have to be registered on ETF2L.

A team can use up to a maximum of two mercs, even if the opponent would allow the use of more than two mercs.

Violations of the merc clause will result in the offending team being issued a Minor Warning. Additionally, if the offending team uses an unapproved merc or an unregistered player, the official in question will result in a Default Loss.

In addition to that a minor warning has been issued to “GLUEEATERS II” for using an unapproved merc.
