Welcome to the Highlander Season 16 Div2 Semi Finals!
This match will be played as a best-of-three.
Maps will be decided using the following Map Elimination System:
Team A bans a map
Team B bans a map
Team B picks 1st map
Team A picks 2nd map
Tourettes Briscola Club picks 3rd map
As the higher seed Tourettes Briscola Club can decide if they want to begin the pick/ban as “Team A” or if Xenon have to.

Highlander Season 16 Rules:
1.4 One mercenary allowed by default and up to 3 mercenaries if the opponent agrees
In order for your mercenary to be allowed by default, he cannot be more experienced than the tier the match is being played in.

You’re completely within the rules to deny all but the default merc. That doesn’t mean that you should. I’m not questioning your win here but the only reason to deny mercs of an equivalent skill level to the team is because you don’t want your opponents to be able to put up a fair fight where the best team will win.
If you had been in our situation I’m sure you would not have appreciated having mercs denied and almost having to play 8v9. If everybody denied all mercs they technically could, the league would be a very shit place. I’ve probably run into less than 5 teams who have done this in the 5+ years I’ve played comp.
I’m not gunna continue arguing this though. Results confirmed, thanks for submitting (& correcting). It was a good game, congratulations on your win & good luck in the finals.

@fishage, it’s not about being dicks as you are trying to say. It’s about considering it’s a semifinal, and your team is supposed to have 9+x subs ready to play since we decided the match day together. Moreover, blame kireek for being so hungry :P

Yes, because people who can play div 2 on a single class will definitely switch to a class which they are weak on so that someone else can play that class. Nice logic lmao.
Even so, if you get a spy main who rosterrides in div 1 to play medic, he’s going to take over the game and carry lol. Furthermore, you certainly don’t want to accept an engineer who plays in mid into a div 2 game – that would be super unfair!

1. if I were leader I’d have accepted you, British, but the medic thing is kinda beyond the point because they got Jack as default merc. I don’t think having the med from the best team in div 2 hurt you guys.
2. Y’all asked for Foz as soldier. Absolutely no reason to accept a div 1 merc on his main.
3. The temporary engie was Aoshi I think? This wasn’t so much because of the player, it’s just that the reason to ask for him was so dumb… why on earth would you interrupt your match to go have dinner, I’ve played this shit game for 5 years and it’s the first time I’ve seen that. Even still we waited well beyond the pause limit for Kireek to come back, and you guys ended up having Deepfried available to step in which is also a good player. So no harm done there either
Look, I can’t speak for all of my team’s decisions because Phil and Sprasty have the final word on everything, but it’s kinda ridiculous how you’re pinning the entire match on the mercs situation and making us look like assholes… as if playing with Polarium and Deepfried for like 5 minutes really did you so much harm.
Also shittalking us for caring about hl but caring so much about losing this game that you come here arguing the living fuck out of it. This is why hl sucks.
Mr British, nobody cares if you are rosterriding or not. If they were looking seriously for mercs, why they didn’t ask for a div 2 merc? And then getting a div 2 default merc like Jack for playing medic?

1. I’m not considering the result, because I don’t gain anything from Xenon winning/losing this match, other than possible playtime. I just found it funny that a med merc was denied lol.
2. I didn’t ask, and I don’t know why they would have as he isn’t allowed to merc afaik. He played twice this season already, for Xenon. By the blogpost linked below, he isn’t allowed to play more this season anyway.
3. Kireek lives with his parents. I don’t know the situation, but, from what I gather, he didn’t want to leave. You’d have to ask him.
“4.” I’m not pinning the match on mercs – I never mentioned winning/losing in my post at all. Besides, even with me/whoever, it would still have been close, likely with the same result. When Nikoro plays, I don’t maincall. It would have therefore just been my heals. I’m not even trying to make you “look like assholes”. I was just expressing that I found denying (those) engie/med mercs funny. If you think I did, I apologise for that.
As for shittalking cos I care about losing – I gain nothing [possibly apart from playtime] from Xenon winning, so you seem to misunderstand my motives/the situation. I am friends with Sprasty, and am happy for his getting to the final, and hence yours. Hope this clears the situation :)

I mentioned rosterriding because I don’t actual play any div 1, so it was emphasising the fact I thought it was silly to deny me, hence funny. They asked me to med first because I play with them more than other people, and they didn’t know anyone else. As for Foz, he wouldn’t be allowed to play under ETF2L rules anyway.
The fact they got Jack to merc was because I recommended him. This point is also moot as it assumes I care about the result – I don’t. Just found the denying of mercs funny. Again, no hard feelings and hope this cleared things up :)
Alright, fair enough. It’s just that I may be a mediocre toxic player but lately it seems that people are getting similar impressions of the rest of the team, and it’s not true. They’re good people, I admire their dedication, and I wouldn’t be playing if sprasty didn’t convince me to.
