Can’t do today or Wednesday – proposing Sunday
We cant play with full lineup on thursday and sunday, we’d like to play it tomorrow
As discussed we need 2 mercs tomorrow, so we are at a stalemate.
A default date has been set for this match by ETF2L.
The default date is: Saturday, 11 March 2017, 21:15
Please play this match on the appointed time and submit the results.
If the default date does not suit you, please contact your opponent and ask them to reschedule.
No problem with this date, we may use a backup.
Just to make things clear.
Admins have picked a default date that nobody asked for, saturday. We originally wanted to play this game on wednesday, and Lowpander on Sunday. We “agreed” that we’d let the default date decide if we were to play on wednesday or sunday.
Now we have to play this on saturday, which is an obvious inconvenience, because as people may note, it’s the week end. Seeing this, I made a new proposal to Lowpander to play this game on sunday, as they originally proposed. But now they are ok to play this on the default date, saturday, even if that means they wouldnt have to play with their full lineup.
It’s just a clear sign of unsportsmanship, coming out of nowhere (because I can’t actually believe Lowpander is punishing us for not wanting to pcw them this season).
In addition, may I say that I’ve been trying to find a suitable decision for both teams since last thursday, while Hildreth hasnt been responding, willingly or not, until monday, only to then not showing any kind of understanding.
I hope and think people can attest that we have a fairly good history of sportsmanship towards our various opponents over the seasons, but unfortunatly it seems that tf2 is too big of deal for some people to show the same kind of attitude.

you said you cant play sunday when we offered it but now you are telling us you want to play sunday and now you are accusing us of being unsportsmanship because we are ok with playing on the default date

I said we didnt want to play on sunday because we’d need a merc, while wednesday was fine for us, that’s perfectly legit and explained on my previous message.
While I’m at it we have two people missing on saturday, me and Medico, that’s why I made a new proposal to play on sunday as we’d need only one merc and not two.

Do you think an official on saturday is legit? It is just dishonest from you.

We could play 3 days: from monday to wednesday, you could play 2, thursday and sunday, everyone ever told me that 3>2 but maybe I am wrong ? Then, we made no effort to come to an agreement? I may be wrong but I saw logs of your team playing on tuesday which was suppose to be a day you can’t play while we just disagree to play on a day we are missing people …

So you made plans for sunday between wednesday 19 to midnight before asking us if it was ok to play the official on saturday?
It clearly seems to me that you are not nice against us just because we didn’t want to play against you during the season… And, don’t blame us, nobody wants to play against you just because playing against highlander team is not fun and it only train us to play against you and not the other teams, Ombrack already told you that.
It’s clear dishonesty from you and your team and being ok with an official on saturday while now you can’t play on sunday is quite revealing of your unsportmanship.

I don’t understand why you’re posting Medico, your comments will not help you achieve the date you want because we’re acting within the rules of the league. It appears your only purpose to post is to try and make us look unsportsmanlike to other people, which I will leave down to the neutrals to decide because it still won’t help you move the game.
Official is on Saturday because we couldn’t agree on a date – Common Admin Guideline. We so happen to have all 6 of our roster willing to play Saturday. I never ask my team if they can play Saturday but because the default date is Saturday, I asked them and they all confirmed they can, so we’re happy with it.
We could not play Monday because we’d already agreed to extend the Sev7n match at the request of Sev7n. We could not do Tuesday because Mr Epic’s birthday was Tuesday, he told me so when you requested Tuesday originally, so I denied the schedule proposal. We scheduled a pcw at 20 CET on Tuesday and wanted to use a merc and Mr Epic for his own personal reasons decided to play that pcw with about 30 minutes notice. Any case he was not willing to play 21 and had to go, we might have been able to do Tuesday 20 but with 30 minutes notice? No thank you.
We usually never play Wednesdays, I have football, people generally have other things to do. We offered Thursday and Sunday, very common days to play. Sadly you cannot play either, which is a shame. So you offered us an extension to next week.
Now next week to accommodate you we would have to shift a load of real life plans (because we cannot make playoffs or finish below 5th, so we decided not to play and take a break). Simply put, we’re not prepared to do this. I told Ombrack this and I told him truthfully, why should we when your team has been so disrespectful to us already by ignoring every pcw we asked for. Now I don’t mind if you do not want to play us, lot of teams are like this, but you have to be so rude and arrogant to ignore us every time, not even tell us “No thank you”.
And yes we will blame you for this. You don’t have to play us but show some courtesy. I do not know what Uubers has planned for Sunday now, but I am sure he, like me was willing to move the game to Sunday. But now I don’t see why why we should accommodate you, you haven’t shown us any courtesy and we’re within the rules of the league. We have backups prepared to play if need be, we added players to our roster for a reason. Since we reformed we’ve always played within a deadline even if we needed mercs because we’ve prepared ahead for the worst case scenerio.
If I was you I would make your merc presentation.

You guys should chill. It’s ridiculous that etf2l are allowing matches to not get default dates at the start of the week this season. I have no idea why they’ve changed approach since it was never this way before , but that’s what’s causing the issues both for you guys know and for people trying to cast matches this season. Kaidus, I won’t defend whether or not the admin default policy is fit for purpose or not, for the sake of neutrality, though I suggest you put your feedback to other (Impartial) admins personally if you want to see it amended. However I don’t think it’d made any difference in this case because we wanted completely different dates. If the deadline was Saturday for scheduling, we’d both made the same suggestions for games:
Us – “Can’t do Monday because ETF2L allowed an extension for our official (at the request of Seven) and we agreed to do it. We cannot do Tuesday or Wednesday, can do Thursday or Sunday.”
Them – “Can’t do Thursday or Sunday, Can do Monday to Wednesday.”
ETF2L – “Well one team are available 3 days, one team are available 2 days, however we are partly responsible for allowing them an extra day to play another game, therefore it is only fair we schedule a day neither team proposed and force them to either play on that day or come to an agreement with themselves, as how teams schedule with eachother is not our remit as long as the game is played within the agreed deadline, so we will pick Saturday.”
To conclude – Nerdrage are blaming admins for not picking their side, which is ridiculous because Admins job for default dates is to resolve scheduling conflicts based off of information they know posted on the match page. They resolved it by scheduling on a neutral day, which it turns out we can play because we’re all nerds with nothing better to do (Except Kissakala but I think his girl is on her period or something, oh and Grenjabob has cancelled a night of socialist activities).

Before anyone writes another essay on this, please know that Hildreth and I have been discussing and there’s no further need to write anything more here.
I agree with kaidus, we need to bring back sonny. As a response your question however I hoped that most prem teams were capable enough to work something out. Which has been the case for almost the whole season as this is the first match where there have been any vocal issues. We could put the schedule deadline earlier again next season but from what I remember a lot of the teams wont have the match scheduled themselves nor posted anything on the match page by that date is reached. Making it that the scheduled dates are often completely randomly picked by admins. Which isnt optimal either.
By the time I placed the default date there was very little info on the match page. Both teams mentioned their preferred day and 2 days they couldnt play. Including the other teams’ day so a neutral day was chosen. This has been done on ETF2L for quite a while so I’m surprised that Top5 were so upset when a neutral data got chosen.
