How can we prevent situations like this in the future? That one team is forced to play at this set day due to deadlines and the potencial nullification of the match and the other team not beeing able to play due ot ddos´s?
gg anyway, hope to see NC´s more frequently so we can have a rematch for this soon!
DDOS prevention isn’t 100% possible but there are things you can do to minimise the chances of it happening;
– Everyone involved in the match sets steam friends to offline before joining the server
– Nobody besides the players themselves knows what server the match is played on
– Nobody besides the players themselves knows when the match is being played (you can schedule in secret with an admin if you must)
And I’m sure some creative people can come up with more stuff as well..
Ye we avoided beeing in irc and going online in steam before the matches and I thought that this might be one of the things that helps preventing it. Kind of fucked up that someone has intrest in derailing such events.Im alsol sorry that it just happened to swe members which makes it obvious that some germany fanboy had a blast.
If we start to schedule games without telling anyone I think we are missing the purpose tho arent we? No coverage would be possible at all but I guess its not possible with DDOS´s either :/
