Until some days ago, tfportal.de’s team page said “plz ask deziar and peter4life for etf2l match dates“. We will not award a default win to tfportal.de since r7an talked to peter4life soon enough to get the match moved. peter4life acted as war arranger/team leader although he might not have been a team leader on paper.
Please play the match as usual (maybe at the 14th, as agreed with peter4life?).

peter was actually listed as a ‘leader’ before the game, hence why i spoke to him. they removed his rights for some reason or another.
peter4life made a ragequit as war arranger because he did not agree with the majority decision of the team ;)

our demo timed at 8.40cest during a warmup game, by the time we realised he wasn’t coming back it was too late to use wildcard. asked to use yak ( http://etf2l.org/forum/user/23329/ ) to which they refused, also stating they would refuse any merc.

Why didn’t you just go to an admin about it when they first denied you a merc ryan? Surely any admin with some sort of brain would atleast consider helping out in some way when you’re stuck in a situation like that and the other team are being pricks. Just accepting stuff without arguing gets you nowhere!
Default hunters should be slapped with one of them plastic hand-clappy thingies (they hurt).

they have the right to refuse merc, which is fair enough, but any self respecting team would allow because its not improving the team whatsoever, they just wanted the easy 6 points.
you never EVER get this in higher divisions (apart from OX but they are fags). makes me want to quit tf2 because of the fucking idiots in lower div tf2. and trust me ive met a few after i’ve made this lower div team/
They have a right to refuse a merc, yes. But at the same time (correct me if i’m wrong), moving matches can be done by admins under certain circumstances? If you nag enough atleast :D

It includes respect for others including team members, opponents, and officials.-
I really can understand if someone feels quite disappointed if an opponent doesn’t allow using a merc. If you dislike this ETF2L Rule feel free to talk with the Admins for a Change. But so long its part of the rules for the matches.
Blaming your Opponent to be a “Default catcher etc.” can be right if he always would act like that. But one look in our Team History (4-7 Season old team!) would allow you to see a lot of merc usage for our opponent.
You have a 9 Player Lineup, enough possibilities of getting a lineup player to be backup + Wildcards. It`s our 2nd Match arrangement, so where is our fault?
And think back to the definition of sportsmanship – “It includes respect for others + manner even when others do not play “fairly”.
We did not break any rule, we stayed manner and respectful, we just did not allow a merc, but what is your behaving?

The long and short of it is that any decent bunch of guys would have allowed a same div merc, instead of hiding behind the rules.
We all know that the rules are there to be followed, but they clearly weren’t trying to abuse them, merely trying to replace someone with connection issues.
You have essentially spoiled the match and your reputation in the community, but I very much doubt that bothers you.
Oh and just FYI – nobody is going to watch that demo.

while we were pissed off, we would never go to a level of racisim, in fact I hate racisim, I always support equality
now the fact about our lineup and the fact we couldnt get 6, real life always takes priotity (sp) over gaming, no one dies in a game (despite Ive witnessed some die after playing a sporting match), but in real life, events like that happen. OFC that didnt happen last night. But we had people on holiday, and people visiting family, but we decided to keep going because we had 6 and it was the 6 Im sure ryan wanted to use.
However, a crisis did hit, our demo losing internet/power cut/something to cause him to drop, we explained however you still refused anything on the grounds of “2nd re-arangement”. Yes I can understand you are right, however, the event was sudden enough that you should of taken some compassion into the event. Heck, the requested demo is playing you guys in S9 (and us) later in the season.

I am kindly asking all users to refrain from flames towards any team or player.
The outcome of this match has been unsatisfactory for both teams (yes, even tfportal.de who are constantly being trolled in every mix, very mature!) and we are currently discussing any further consequences of this match.
All of this could probably have been avoided by better communication from both sides and I am convinced that flames in any form rather harm yourself than the person or team they are directed to. Do not forget your manners! (yes, I know, this is the internet)

I just hope that if Tfportal.de ever has someone drop just before a game (and too late to wildcard it) their opponents are more forgiven than they were, alternatively if they remember this game they might think 6v5 easy 6 points
so I’d actually like to hear someone from tfportal or w/e the fuck you are called give an actual explanation of WHY you said no merc?! Why bother go for an easy 6 points? calm down lads, your not in div4 yet.
Admins maybe should consider changing the wildcard rule to allow teams to use it right up until the game starts – or even take it further if a player drops part way through the first map, and can’t re-connect, and the opponents refuse a merc, the 2nd map can be wildcarded to be played at a later
This maybe only exceptional circumstances when this happens, but never the less it’s worth considering

i doubt admins will make tfportal play us again, this time fairly, tfportal didn’t break any rules. so unless the admins are going to change the rules regarding mercs/wildcards i doubt we’ll see any change.
which is a shame because unsportsmanship should be punished in this league.
