Sundays are the day that works best for our team universally. Just need to know what works for you guys. The actual time we play doesn’t matter a ton, just let us know in advance. If a different day works better, let us know and we’ll work something out.

    Yo,

Thanks for adding me on friends for the heads up. I’ve just now started to get feedback from the team. Previously Saturdays worked well for us, so we have not attempted a Sunday. This may be an opportunity for that.

I’m assuming you guys are free both this weekend (11-14) and next (11-21).

Are you guys at least good for a start time of ~10:45 pm CST? This is b/c we have mostly central and west coast peeps.

Also, we do have a server located in Dallas on NFO to use. It’s setup with all the configs and many teams have used it for the HL Challenge (see thread in forums).

Oh, would you mind clicking the checkbox for “Challenge” below here so that I get email notified? That will help me stay on target and not hold things up.

    Thanks!!

My fault, I just saw your proposed day/time: 14/11/2010 22:30 CEST

That would be Sunday @4:30pm CST going by the following timezone change:

    http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?month=11&day=14&year=2010&p1=70&p2=195&iv=0

Is that what you were intending?

I think, since the etf2l front page is showing CET now, they’ve changed to that, so assuming I’m doing my math right, its 3:30pm CST. I just threw up a time that should work for us, but Sundays are definitely the best day for us, and we do have some European teammates, so midday times are better for us, but we can play at later times or not on Sunday if need be.

One thing Blasto also forgot to mention, is if it’s not a problem, we’d prefer to use our server. We can load it with the .cfg’s and maps and all of that jazz. Not a problem. It’s just an east coast server which helps our player who is in England immensely. If not, we can ask him to practice on central servers.

Thanks for the follow up guys. Blasto, thanks for correcting the timezone as I agree with that math.

    http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?month=11&day=14&year=2010&hour=22&min=0&sec=0&p1=37&p2=70

Unfortunately I am not available this Sunday at the proposed time. I’m the Leader that runs this, also on the West Coast, and is the Medic.

I’d like to propose the following given your openness to other times in consideration for this coming weekend.

    a. Saturday Evening 11/13 @10:45pm CST (=11/14 @05:45 am CET)
    b. Saturday Evening 11/18 @10:45pm CST (=11/14 @05:45 am CET)
    c. Saturday daytime is possible too.

If above are not possible then let’s talk about the last weekend 11/20 and 11/21. Let’s work out the schedule first before server agreement. My fault for bringing that up early.

Thanks guys and hope that is workable! Reasons for most of this actually is that myself and few other players are Moms/Dads with kiddos to put down to bed and such.

Just to check so I can run another option by people, what time looks good for Saturday daytime?

  8. MjrNuT: [ASH] said:

    Blasto,

I was actually hoping there would be more positive response to a Saturday daytime and find that I wouldn’t be able to fill my roster even w/ max Mercs allowed (3).

So far, the next best available is Sunday Night 11/14.

I’m truly a bit surprised, but that is what I have to work with and I realize its a significant consideration for your UK player. :(

  9. MjrNuT: [ASH] said:

I should also mention that weekdays, typically Tuesday/Thursday/Friday also works for us, however for late night time like 10:30-10:45pm central standard time.

  10. Blasto: hmmmmmmmm said:

This Sunday is looking like the best bet so far, would that 10:30/10:45 pm CST?

  11. MjrNuT: [ASH] said:

For some reason I didn’t get email notified. I would have responded much earlier.

I’m going to assume you mean Sunday 11/14 @10:30pm CST which means it is Monday 11/15 @05:30am CET. That is how it must be entered into the site.

So I’ll re-propose that to be inline with the site here. If I’m wrong, then please re-propose.

As for servers. May I propose doing 1st map on your server and 2nd map on ours. I think I’ll be the lynch on your server and would like to estimate the play there to start off.

Please provide your server IP address so that I can connect to it.

Here is our for you guys to check out. connect flashrage.flamesandash.com:27025

It is open to the public and runs SOAP deathmatch mod.

I can’t read this late at night.

Accepting the match as you proposed!

  13. Blasto: hmmmmmmmm said:

    Our server would be: 208.167.248.19:27015

Just a regular server at the moment, but we’ve gotten the config up before, no problem.

And sorry, keep forgetting to check the challenge box.

    Blasto,

Item 1. Last night we gave an appreciable test of your server, located in New Jersey, if I’m not mistaken. We had ppl report pings from CA/WA/TX with 100+ pings. This was only them in the server.

Of course this was not appreciable w/o more people. So we populated your server at prime time to get a better feel. Here is a screenshot reflecting that:

    http://yfrog.com/c8skillherotestj

Please understand I’m trying to have a very reasonable server situation of both teams. If your two EU players are present, I’m certainly wanting to be reasonable to them to play on SkillHeroes server for the first map. Then to balance out to play on our server in Dallas for the same reason. We have had many ppl play on our server from Russia to Australia w/o issue.

I really hope you are in agreement with splitting the servers on Map 1 upward Skillheroes and Map 2 Gpit on ASH. If the 3rd map is needed, Viaduct, I would advocate the server with minimum amount of ping difference for all players, not just by team.

I will also have Mercs available in the event severe latency disallows our West Coast ppl to play. :(

Or, I can try to obtain a neutral server.

Item 2.Have any other people besides yourself tested our server out? What has been the result?

Item 3.One note about our server is that it runs a mod that starts the game using ingame chat commands. It executes the proper config per may type (ETF2L), !teamname , then 6 players issue !ready from each team. Match starts, turns everything to Team Talk, and automatic STV is recorded.

We also have a STV relay to use. So if you have backups or clan/community people with a desire to support and watch on 90 second delay, that is available to you also.

Again, I’m trying to be reasonable and of sportsmanship hand.

    5 Server

    5.1 Be sensible regarding servers

    5.2 European server recommended

    5.3 Server needs password protection

5.4 Server needs ETF2L League Config

5.5 Unusual server settings may classed as cheating

    Regards,

    MjrNuT

We’ll probably have to go with one map per server, and just figure it out if we need the third map. We can figure out the order later, but that should work well enough.

Fantastic game guys. That was a lot of fun.

  17. MjrNuT: [ASH] said:

Well done guys. Wish we could have grabbed at least one round from you all, but it least it was not a roll. ;)

Glad everyone’s experience on the server was well received. Our ppl pass on the gratz. Good luck in the next round. If you would like to use our server, then only shout.

    Peace
