Yes, a subsitute merc is ok, if they are a league 6 rated player. And it’s no problem to be unsure of time to play or if players are available. I know that feeling!

Altho ne accepted the merc they was unaware he was not even registered on etf2l.org and that is a zero tolerance rule that we can not allow to happen.
Default win to ne and 1 minor warning for dN, Please make sure in future any mercs used/allowed are registered on etf2l.org
The other team was in agreement with the use of our merc. We do not see where is the problem!?
Oh no. I didn’t think to ask if they were registered. I believe this was a simple error and didn’t affect the result.
May I appeal to have dN’s win reinstated, with them keeping the minor warning?

The rules about the use of mercs will be updated. Any merc you use must be registered with ETF2L. Any mercs used without express written permission from the other team on the relevant match page will result in harsh penalties.

Your merc wasnt registered on the site which is a massive break in the rules on your side.

What is the problem ?
Our merc was a medic, not a Div 1 scout or demoman…
We played a fair game, waited more than 5 minutes pause between the 3rd round and the 4th round on Granary.
NE seems to be a nice and fairplay team, we don’t want to offense you anyway.
Kop, this is the announcement :

And this is the official rule :
“1.6.6 No ringers allowed unless your opponent agrees
You are not allowed to use a ringer at any time of a match unless your opponent agreed to it. Teams caught using an unauthorized ringer will receive a default loss and a warning.”
We have refered to the official rule, it is not our fault if the official rule wasn’t be update.
I hope that we will find a fair settlement.. We can replay the match if NE wants it.
It is not up to NE to ask if the merc is registered on the website. It is up to dN to ensure that any merc used is actually registered on the ETF2L site.
Over the seasons that I’ve been an admin here, we have never allowed a player who was not registered in ETF2L to participate in an official game. Unfortunately for whatever reason your player does not have an account here, and you were penalised in accordance with our strict guidelines on this issue.
What you did or didn’t do in the game has little concern or relevance to a decision like this. We have to be severe as this is a rule that could be exploited by returning cheats playing with teams in this manner, along with other examples, should they feel that the benefits outweigh the punishment.

So it’s a done deal dN’s. Really sorry. I share some responsibility on this.
More times than we’d like to remember. I’m sorry we might seem draconian with this, but it’s something we are simply unable to ever let slide in an official match.
Oh and the actual rule for this is a major penalty which is -1pt. We thought this was too harsh, hence the minor warning x
Even now that the player in question is added to prove our good faith, the decision is irrevocable?
Let me ask this last question, knowing of course that you can not afford special treatment for each case because of cases of cheating that can be implemented using a player outside ETF2L. We want to “wash” our honor by proving that our goal was in no way to cheat and harm to the opposing team.
