you can play QL for scout, but there is no weapon that would sufficiently emulate the scattergun. its still good for reaction etc.
shotgun & railgun > scattergun
lightning gun > pistol
surely..
Quoted from TviQ
If you can aim while your jumping around like a maniac then its no problem because if your jumping its most likely your enemy is gonna start moving in a predicatable pattern, For me i jump a lot in 1v1 as i find it eaiser to aim meanwhile doing it also quickly from side to side is working as well :D… Double jumping is not bad just people cant use it :)

learn to meatshot like a king by getting up close and using only the gauntlet and unpleasant thoughts
Playing vs Higher div scouts they mostly have excellent movement and also they tend to be buffed and survive 2 stickies or sticky + a pipe (60 dmg + 80 dmg or 35 dmg sticky + 100 dmg pipe) so they’re not afraid to jump in your face and meat shoot you.
They double jump according to where you aim, when I did MGE vs Scouts as Demo some scouts just double jumped left-right-left right – no strafing or mouse movements, easy to pipe them. Some couldn’t dodge mid range pipes when they were strafing, top scouts if you fire pipe mid range they can dodge it…

“Good scouts do good shit” is all i got from that.
Why play another game to get good at TF2? Quake is more about aim yes, but it’s also about gamesense, which you dont learn anything from, if you’re playing to get good at TF2. If you play normal mixes or w/e, and actually try to observe the movement of yourself and other players, you’ll get alot more out of it than to run around with gauntlet in Quake.

Inb4 TF2 v Quake war.
SquirryKnife, just do what you wouldn’t expect from yourself. Don’t focus entirely on hitting an enemy, but also not letting him hit you. Don’t MGE that much, it’s better to play deathmatch for warmup and a lot of pcws, keeping your dodging in mind. Eventually it will become your second nature. Also, if you can’t decide whether playing QL will be helpful in the long run, just try it yourself, by playing a few duels before the matches and seeing if they make a positive impact on your play.

remember when its important to dodge and when to kill though, e.g. scout is running around your medic, you can just stand still to aim better and kill him, when youre blocking a cap focus on staying alive, not killing etc

training for that: get on a dm server and just run with your bat a stay alive as much as possible (without hiding)

It’s impossible deathmatch as scout, man.
When i play, 4vs1, 2vs1, 3vs1, brave focus, or a demopipe in my back -.-
It’s impossible playing and improving..any other way to improve, like pubs with high level, idk TT The deathmatching let me down so much :(
imo the best way to improve is hundreds upon hundreds of hours of 6v6s… mixes/lobbies/pcw’s/officials
it’s 100x better than anything else (pubs, mge, wutever) because it’s what your training to get good at…
5hrs of dm/mge per week can be better than 20hrs of 6v6

It’s like that in the beginning. When you get better at dodging / calculating where those demopipes will hit then you’ll go from 0.2 to 2 in k/d :3

There’s a seed of truth here but there’s still only so much you can do when there’s 3 sollies standing on badlands train and spamming in every direction. Just don’t think about the deaths and keep on keepin’ on and at some point you’ll destroy them.
