Also joined. I’m happy to main call for the new guys, I can throw my server into the pool as well when needed (and when not being used).
I haven’t called in any official capacity since i37, but I just about remember it ;-)
Issue now is to get some more people into the group. Is there anyway to advertise on servers? -HH- springs to mind.
Try contacting creator of TF2 lobby, implement it on the news page or something. I mean TF2 lobby is the only real place a new player can go to get experience.
awesome, been playing with the new guys and it’s going pretty well. I can try and help and give some new guys advice if needed.
It would be nice to get more people to join the group, but the thing I personally think we need to work on is getting more mixes going IE – more people with experience being able to call for the team/sort the teams/set up the server/mumble etc.
If you do think you can help, message Monkeh or Chaplain and I’m sure they can give your necessary powers.
Other than that, I personally think its going great – theres a nice little community of people very keen to play tf2 which is cool!
We have like 20 ppl who can do it now, depending on activity, it could be around 5 mixes a day, for just below 200 ppl. Which works out pretty well.
But this type of project needs to have a direction, another aim which can help it move on. It is how the Vanilla brand is growing.

What do you suggest. Making teams out of mixers?
Well, depending how much effort everyone can put in you could do anything from the following:
Incorporate mentor system
Make teams out of pub players
Cups featuring new players
Expanding to Highlander
More can be thought of. Along the way you would have to set short term goals such as:
Increase player base through advertising on servers
Asking for mention on TF2Blog
Perhaps making a website (or join the Vanilla brand) to help explain things and have forums where people can ask for help
etc etc.
If people are willing to put the effort in, a lot could be done with this. As it is proven there is at least some interest out there.
This Friday we’re going to try and fill 4 servers with new mix teams and some mentors and there is already talk of some players organising a team together, this group has only existed a week or so, baby steps gentlemen, baby steps….
I joined this group just to see what you guys were doing. Man you guys are active as shit. Really cool to see tbh keep it up :D

man, glad to see things to go the way they are, I wish my internet connection allowed to show newcomers the true way of rage and ability to blame others for their own failures :(
