Hey guys I have this problem.
When I load up TF2, my mic in mumble suddenly makes me sound like darth vader according to my clannies, and completely unable to make out what I’m saying.
Is there any chance that you could help me out?
Thanks.
Muesli.
go through the audio wizard.
darth vader voice is win man… pff
You probably turned on the Team fortress 2 plugin which does that so try turning it off or set it to default , I am pretty sure thats the problem.
Had the same problem.Resolved it by reinstalling my sound-card drivers.
This is caused by too low of an input audio buffer — basically it is fine outside of TF2 because the audio buffer isn’t being saturated, but then TF2 wants some of it and it isn’t enough. I’m not 100% sure on how to increase the size of the buffer with Mumble, but this would be my guess after having a look in the options:
Configure > Settings > make “audio per packet” 40ms
This should mean that data gets fully async’ed before being sent, if it doesn’t, try making the audio per packet even higher.
edit: never mind then, guess the tf2 plugin fucks the buffer

Right, now our scout can talk again – we just need to sort out our demo’s lag problem and we’re good to go.
