I installed Windows 7 two days ago. Since then I experience some weird lagging during TF2. The game stops every 2-3 seconds. My ping is the same as it was on XP (50-60, UK server). The FPS is usually over 80. Nothing runs in the background. I even put TF2 and Steam on my antivirus program’s exception list.
Is there anyone who has encountered the same problem? Any solution?

If this occurs in a predictable pattern, you might have something that suddenly begins to use the CPU for some reason at set intervals. If you set the process priority for hl2.exe to ‘high’ (to give it priority over services or processes that might be using cpu cycles), does this still happen?
