So I’ve rendered my little testmovie out of vegas as .avi uncompressed. Then I encoded it with Salmon’s recording program thingy. Now, the problem is that the video itself is twice as fast as the music, which has the correct speed. Already tried to do it with different videos, restarting computer, (the usual) but it doesn’t seem to work. Help anyone?

try a different encoder.
for example..?
Thanks alot Morty. Works now. Still getting weird straps though…
Ensure that you have
* deactivated resampling
* set the deinterlace-method to “interpolating”
* set the fieldorder / fieldsequence ( dunno if its the correct translation) to “progressive”.
These settings work best imo, the results are pretty sharp.

Are these settings for Vegas?
What Morty said.
Be sure to also apply them to the render settings additionally, you can save it as a custom profile, its pretty comfortable that way.
I really appreciate your help guys, but you’re talking to a complete vegas newbie with no experience at moviemaker at all. You’ve gotta slow down a bit if you want me to understand :)
@ Traum: I’ve looked for the settings you’ve written though I’m not really sure where do find them…
Is 1280×720 okay? What else should I do before I start a new project?
thanks… :)
Sorry for answering so late.
The resolution shouldn’t differ from the data (images / video) you exported out of the demo. 1280px is fine, I prefer 1920px (Full HD).
Check File -> Properties for the mentioned project-wide settings.
You can deactivate resampling by right-clicking on the video event –> Properties.
If you want to prepare a video for being encoded by an external software (e.g. MeGUI), you could use the following render settings:

I find megui the best encoding program so far
