What’s the malfunction speed of the Naos?
Damn, I’d really like Sujoy to refresh his Mousescore with the new generation of mice…

The tracking speed is 5.1 m/s.
I agree that it would be very nice to get a new Mousescore test instead of all too subjective tests out there.

A laser mouse that support 30g accel ? Sounds good , but the price 79€ … :/
I’ll give the DA a try :)

What happened to your Diamondback ?
And what is the average lifetime of mx518, Diamondback and Deathadder ?
My right mouse button stopped working, but I had it for a good 2-3 years and played nearly daily with it. I have my DeathAdder 6 Months now, and it is still like it was on the first day.
Any mouse that you feel it works well is good

Well, there are other new better laser mice except the Naos.
The Storm Sentinel for example is a new laser mouse which has recieved good reviews. It is also considerably cheaper than the Naos. Haven’t tested it for myself though.
Also if you liked the shape of your G9, you have the improved version : G9x.
Then there is the G500, the improved G5.
Also, you have the Qpad 5K someone else mentioned here.
However, most people seemed to like their Deathadders so I guess this is not a bad choice.

Google knows everything.
DPI is dots per inch, it also relates directly to the mouse READING, along with the movement on screen. So that said, if you use a 1024×786 screen rez, and you having a 1000DPI mouse, it would ‘technicly’ take 1 inch to move from one side to the other.
But it also relates to how many ‘screen shots’ the mouse takes per second. So higher dpi = more screen shots per ‘movement cycle’ which translates into a smoother movement of your mouse, and yields a higher speed.
You can also reduce your movement speed (most commonly done in the game you are playing) to adjust the higher speed.
So if you go from a 400 dpi mouse with 4 sensitivity, a 1600 DPI mouse and a 1 sensitivity would give you the same speed, but higher precision.
You have to watch out for which mouse you buy and do research, SOME MICE labled as high gaming mice, react strange to high dpi / low sensitivity and develope the situation of ‘negitive accel’ So please do research into the mice you are buying.
the mouse DPI means that, the number of points in 1 cm square which are been reading by mouse sensor. the more DPI, the better mouse reaction.
Ty for the reply, but I’m not sure to understand your explanations (it’s 3h30 am :p ).
Did you say that if I use my mouse with 3600DPI I will have less speedtracking issues than using it with 800DPI ?
For sure the best way to choose a mouse is to test them, but it will need some hours to do it, impossible in a shop :/ .
edit: Just tested with 3600DPI, but still speedtracking fail.

just get the 518 gobi! silly french with swedish avatar
update:
I bought the DA 3500DPI, with the sens I use don’t have speedtracking issues anymore.
Sry Traget :p
Maybe someone who has time to spend for the etf2l community could gather all informations about mice, and make a new and unique thread for them ?
Or make it a sub-forum in the support section ?

Old, thought. Anyway, sensorwise, you won’t ever get a better one than the ones from MX518 and DeathAdder…
Anyway, most people can use successfuly mices with worse sensors, without losing any accuracy – its dificult or rare to move the mouse faster than 2m/s.
I use 25cm/360º in Quake and scout/sniper, and yet the highest speed I usually achieve while playing normally is around 1.9m/s (measured with http://enotus.at.tut.by/Files/MouseTest.exe)

Have DA and G9, and what i can say DA is rly good mouse, but it isnt strong and can broke any time, G9 is well made, but lazer is shit. All i learn from mouses is that dont buy laser :)
I have now bought the Mionix Naos 5000 and I have to say it’s a great mouse! I love the shape and the sensor is working great, no malfunction at all, and I play pretty low sense (40cm/180dgr)
It also had zero accel.
So for me it’s like the deathadder with better drivers (Dpi switch is great on the Naos) and a better shape.
Thx to Iller for making me aware of this mouse ;)
