i tried to raise up the polling rate to 500hz instead of the 125hz default, i did the same way for xp sp3 but it didnt work for win 7 (usbmsr11 patch and http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?8561-Vista-usbport-sys-500hz-mouse-polling-rate ), kept crashing the windows everytime, do you know how to do it in win7?

Sounds strange that there would be a problem here.
I use 1000HZ in Windows 7 without having to do anything.
Or maybe there is an older mouse you are trying to tweak ?
logitech mx518 is not like razer DA in this point.. you must oc the usb polling rate to get a faster mouse response, the patch worked with me at xp sp3 but not at 7
ok i got it to work,
download this http://www.fatal1ty.com/downloads/mouse-tools/hidusbf-zip
open setup.exe, check filter on device, select desired rate, install service, restart, close
