a VAC ban from nowhere!?

So today a friend of mine just got VAC banned. There is no chanse of cheating, scripting or w/e which may cause this permban reasonable. Playing on publics mainly and sometimes on pickup1 also. What could cause this issue? No other Steam game used from his PC or from this user ( he’s the only one who used this account ). Support didn’t give any possible answers for this problem. Please don’t make this a spam topic >_>

VAC doesn’t ban you for no reason and the chances of a false ban are very low.
Your friend must have used something that got him banned.
AFAIK Valve will never unban banned accounts.

So did he install some special data, played once not on his own computer?

VAC bans are 99.999% possitive
And you cant get unban

But tbh, your friend is lying. VAC dosen’t throw false positives like PunkBuster, etc,,,
In all seriousness, were his account hacked or his details leaked to someone less than scrupulous, they could easily login with his details, have a few aimbotting lulz and move unnoticed to the next account.
So it is possible that his friend isn’t lying.

I can only see three cases where VAC ban would be a surprise:
1. Valve lies about how their software works (very, very unlikely and makes no sense)
2. Someone hacked his account and used cheats (very, very unlikely but depends on how stupid he is)
3. He used some borderline software that VAC says is a cheat, but your friend honestly thinks isn’t (most likely of the three, still one in a million chance)
The software simply can’t give false positives if it works as Valve says it does.
