Getting logs.tf plugin to work on multiplay server

Hi,
Really hoping someone might be able to help on this.
Recently got a multiplay server, you just click to add the plugins you want, seems simple enough. But it isn’t! Spent a lot of time digging around to try and get SOAP DM, Source TV etc to work. Getting logs to automatically upload is the last hurdle!
The instructions on the plugin were “Set cvar logstf_apikey to your Logs.tf API Key” – no indication of where this should be. Tried putting my API key along with both “cvar logstf_apikey 123456” and “logstf_apikey 123456” into a line of the server.cfg file, and still nothing.
Hoping that someone has gone through the same struggle and might know the answer. And I haven’t asked multiplay because a previous question I asked them about STV didn’t particularly instill me with any confidence about solving something this specific.
Thanks – Jammy

What plugin do you use to upload logs to logs.tf? In case of TFTrue, you need to add tftrue_logs_apikey “yourAPIkeyhere” in server.cfg, or any other config that is executed automatically.
You can just install TFTrue and add this to server.cfg: tftrue_logs_apikey “myapikey” There are also some more commands for TFTrue you can edit: http://tftrue.esport-tools.net/

Hi,
I installed both the logs.tf SM plugin by F2, and the relevant – http://teamfortress.tv/thread/13598/?page=1#post-1 – as well as TF true. I’ve just added the tftrue_logs_apikey command to the server.cfg file, both with and without quotations around the API key, and still nothing.
Maybe I should try uninstalling the logs plugin?
Thanks
Just before you do anything, think. Is multiplay really worth it? Go to http://www.fragnet.net/
They give you a server with FTP and you can manually install the plugins without much hastle. They provide a nice way of updating, and a really good mumble server aswell!
In my half year or so of using it , I havent had any problems.
Add me if you need help with shit.
Hi there jammyninja,
If you submit a support ticket I’ll have our technical team look into this for you.
I’ve attempted to try and resolve this myself however without your specific server details testing these plugins won’t really help.
You can submit a ticket here: https://support.multiplay.co.uk/ :)
Hey
In order for F2’s logs plugin/Log uploader plugin to work, you need a plugin for Sourcemod called cURL or steamtools. If it’s not running, these plugins will not work.
However, TFTrue is a seperate addon, which is not dependant on sourcemod nor cURL. Setting the tftrue cvar in the server.cfg (tftrue_logs_apikey yourapikey) should actually work.
Please try the following:
->For sourcemod logs.tf plugin, please verify cURL/Steamtools is installed and loaded. You can do that by typing the following, in console, when connected to your server “rcon sm plugins list”. That will list plugins currently running. That should list plugins currently loaded, and if there is any errors. If there is no errors, and the cURL plugin is loaded, please navigate to the following path on the FTP of your server: /tf2/orangebox/tf/addons/sourcemod/logs -> and provide us with the latest log file, and if there is any logfile called “errors_xxx”
->For tftrue, verify the plugin is running and working by writing “rcon status” in console. It should list both metamod and TFTrue, as shown here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46469811/TFTrue.png
verify you set the cvar correctly in your server.cfg and your apikey is correct. You can verify your apikey on logs.tf as shown here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46469811/logstf.png
Now, when configuring your server from scratch, it’s handy to be able to remote control your server, without actually being on it. I use an oldschool tool, we used back in the day for counterstrike servers: http://www.crocs.org.uk/ – It still works fine for tf2 :) You can send rcon commands through that application to your tf2 server.
I believe Multiplay runs their servers on Windows machines. There is a particular VCRedist you need to have installed for cURL to run properly on some Windows machines.

This may not be the problem you’re having, but I hope it helps
