FPS increase when opening in-game chat

Usually on a 24 people pub I have 40-60 fps
When I open the ingame chat I have like a boost of about 50 fps. Any help so that I can have those fps and that it doesn’t drop down again or something

Limit framerate to 60? Don’t quite know if that would work, though

Still have poop fps and boosts when opening chat
Why does your FPS increase when opening the chat box? Does it happen on a different PC? On a different config? an a different HUD? on a different account? etc…
What have you done to fix the problem and why didn’t it work??

It happens with any other hud and account and cfg
The thing is for some misterious reason, one month ago I got 100 fps on any server, while before that having the usual 40-60. Today, without and warning or anything I just have 40-60 fps again. I’ve tried new configs etc. got a few fps out of it but nothing compared to when I had 100 straight. Also when I had higher fps opening in-game chat would not change anything about fps.
It sounds insane… I doubt it has anything to do with TF2 at all, more of a script bug, that probably is hidden somewhere…
I highly doubt you have something wrong with your configs, but if trying everything on different accounts and configs didn’t help, maybe try reinstalling. It always helps.
Format/defrag would help too, TF2 and Steam really mess up discs.
But I really think it’s something within any of the scripts, or the files, that’s tanking your pc power until you press a button.

Clean your computer? Maybe it has clogged over time
