Constantly changing IP?

Just got fiber installed in the neighbourhood, and even though the speed is consistent and high, I can’t use it for gaming, because I disconnect from any server every 5 minutes or so.
A friend told me it was most likely a DHCP issue, and it was because my IP-address kept changing.
How do I fix this? And is it even what I suspect it is?
Make sure you havent set your own ip. You should have the setting obtain ip-adress automaticaly. Otherwise contact your isp. the problem probably lies at their end then
Edit: you can also try resetting your router to factory settings

whatismyip.com, and check it periodically to see if your IP is changing.
Also, run a constant ping (in windows, command prompt, ping -t google.com or similar) to see if your network connection is dropping.

Alright, so apparently it isn’t an IP problem then. :/
Why does my internet turn it self on and off for a second then?
5 EUR to the guy who helps me fix this, it’s annoying
Maybe it’s actually the local IP, not internet one. Check with ipconfig /all in a windows console.
