Steam acting up again

“Could not connect to steam network”
“It appears that you are not currently connectd to the internet… bla bla bla”
Well i most certenly am connected to the internet. I have not changed anything in my settings.
I`m not using a router.
Firewall on/off, restarting steam/pc.
Tried starting steam with -tcp didn`t help either.
Any ideas ? Or maybe anyone esle having problems connecting ?

Hi Guys.. this sometimes happens if for some reason UDP packets are blocked from the client-side. Try and adding -tcp to your steam launch options (done from right clicking your steam and add -tcp in target)
Also check your firewall settings, to see if it’s acting up.

Try deleting your clientregistry.blob in your steam folder, and then run steam in administrator mode
[EDIT] Seeing that you are not behind a router, I would strongly suggest scanning your PC/Network for virus’s. This should be done on a regular basis (2-3 days imo), because there really aren’t anything between you and the internetz :( )

I used to get that on windows 7 after shutting down before the steam.exe process finished closing.
Have you tried to start steam, get the “Could not blablabla” message, kill steam.exe, wait a bit and repeat it once more?
