Basically been stuck here from a few days, want some help.
A decent time ago, I really liked songs by a person whose music, unfortunately, can’t be downloaded anywhere. I believe at this point it can, but that is no the point. I found his music on Grooveshark, and I really wanted to set it as a ringtone on my phone. So, I found a tool which was basically downloading music out of grooveshark, an add-on for chrome. I was pretty happy, downloaded, it, downloaded the music I wanted, and I felt as a happy panda. For 30 minutes.
I realised software by the name of ”Tuneup Live Utilities” has been installed. At first I was pretty alright with it, since it was suposingly reducing load or something. But then it started to bug me, because I couldn’t really let a video play in the background, or a song, without it going super bad quality. So, I uninstalled it via Control Panel, and deleted the files I could find, yet it still seems to be running the way it was before. I keep trying to shut it down from the Control Panel, but unfortunately it boots again in a matters of seconds automatically.
Anyone had an issue like that? Would appreciate some help.

Norton Antivirus & Co.?

Or try the System Recovery Points.

Or save whatever you need and make a new beginning ;P Might be smartest tbh.

open start menu
type msconfig
and under startup you can select what applications are launched at boot

if you are using w8 then just do same from task manager

this is evil evil

Back in the day TuneUp Utilities was THE tool to use, if you wanted to clean your computers registry and other bad stuff. I haven’t used it in a long time, and it’s sad to see it now seems to be somewhat of a piece of spyware :(

Anyways, to solve your problem, I would strongly recommend running a registry cleaner. I currently use the registry cleaner in CrapCleaner which works just fine, and is free: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Before you do this, locate the TuneUp utilities .exe file in your program files folder and delete it manually, after you’ve stopped it in your taskmanager. That should definitely fix your issue.

Alternatively:

Start -> run -> regedit
->
HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run
(and same path under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)

windows button + r
run msconfig and it should be there. Works well for most of the RATs too if you ever download anything suspicious
