So here’s the thing – I have recently bought a laptop (3 days ago) and until yesterday it was all fine but after I had installed some additional software (media player classic, winrar e.t.c.) and updated my AMD Video Driver my audio started crackling and stuttering about every 15-20 seconds whether it is a video, a song or a game. I tried reinstalling audio drivers and codecs a bunch of times but it didn’t help.

My laptop:
TOSHIBA L855-14H
i7-3630QM
AMD HD7670M
4GB DDR3 1600 MHz

P.S. I have windows 7.

Tried different speakers/headsets? Might be the cable.

Also, here’s a stupid one: Is it plugged in properly?

It happens with both integrated speakers and headphones.
What do you mean by saying “plugged in”? You mean the power cable? If you do, then yes, it is.

On my old mb, the onboard soundcard thingy got a flip and did the same thing. Not sure if that’s your problem though.
Try uninstalling the shit you installed, and reinstalling/downgrading the drivers for the sound if that’s possible
I fixed it by buying a cheap Creative soundcard and used that instead

edit: also, it’s a totally new laptop?
I doubt it’s the hardware then, but if you’ve tried fiddling around with wires and the ports, drivers etc. Then idk

They are plugged in properly but since it happens with integrated speakers as well I doubt it’s a problem.

tried uninstalling sound driver and reinstalling? driver issues can cause crackling and weird noises…

Sometimes the laptop makers use custom video/sound cards drivers(because they use custom motherboards or custom cards), try reinstalling the drivers that came with the laptop.
