Hey guys!Since i came back into TF2 I started playing it again and..frankly,a strange problem came.
What’s the problem?A FPS drop. But not a normal one :).I usually have 110-60 fps.But sometimes…My fps drops at 20-30.And I said it’s a strange FPS drop. Why?Sometimes when i acces Shift-Tab it solves the problem,if that doesn’t helps i could press the “Windows” button and since I am on the desktop i can get back in the game with a normal FPS.xD
Notes:I am running TF2 on an ASUS N61jV(googling it and seeing his specs is much easier :D)on a wireless network(the ping is decent..on german servers from 16 to 40..Not to mention that I have updated my drivers and before quiting TF2 in October 2012 I had no problems :D.I am running this
autoexec(http://pastebin.com/GWqDFVtE) with these launch options:-novid -console -nocrashdialog -nojoy -noipix -nocdaudio -heapsize 2097152
sounds like your intel hd graphics card kicking in
you should set pc power options to performance and if that does not work try to force hl2.exe to use nvidia graphics card in their options somehow
one thread a day ago mentioned you need to add hl2.exe profile to the nvidia settings and then select to use nvidia card for it
sry if i dont make much sense its 7am and i still need my cofee :D
maybe your laptop is overheating, check the temps under gaming load.
If they get very hot it is very possible for your laptop fans and heatsinks to be filled with dust
The LAPTOP is clearly NOT overheating and I cleaned it about 3 months ago and I even use a cooler :D.A preety good one.

I have set the Nvidia profile to maximum perf from 3d settings or something like this I will also try to add hl2.exe there.(How?-:-??).Thanks for your help guys:D If you have more suggestions add them!It may sound like an idiot answer but hey…it may help :P
This may be caused by several problems
– Overheating CPU
– Switchable graphic card
– NVIDIA settings
– Some ugly virus is in your pc
My recommandation is to download some program that would measure the temperature of your CPU. If that´s okay then go to the NVIDIA settings and set your graphic card on low quality. Also try to use your anti-virus to see if your pc is healthy. Lastly check that you didn´t switch your graphic cards (usually it´s the button on the side of a laptop)

This, and also track the speed of your CPU. The reason you don’t realise your laptop is overheating (which it most likely is) is that, when this happens, it is configured to down-clock the CPU in order to cool down (or rather: to prevent it from actually overheating), and that is what, most likely, is causing your FPS drops.
If you don’t want this, don’t play on a laptop.
