So I did some googling into the issue, you might want to start reading from those documents:

But IE10 is actually feen faster for run of the mill browsing compared to Chrome and FF :((

I checked under protocol handlers before I posted this, but its not there (as your links suggests). Is there maybe something I can change in the register?

edit: completely missed the info in one of the links

Seriously, get firefox of chrome. Firefox has can magically copy all your bookmards, favs, history, cookies, options from IE and it doesn’t need admin access to install or run.

Download firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox

Import all your data: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/import-bookmarks-internet-explorer

I’d rather not help webkit reaching the same status as IE6. Webkit is the cancer spreading across the internet. That’s why I use IE10, FF or Opera….I dropped FF when it started hugging enormous amounts of RAM and started loading pages slower than IE10….and even Opera…

I don’t see what’s the problem with Safari/Chrome. I switched from Firefox to Chrome ever since the very first day Chrome was introduced and I never had any problems. I remember they had a screenshot of gmail on one of the pages promoting Chrome with thuosands of emails on inbox, that totally convinced me it’s worth it.

It’s not Chrome as a browser, it is the effect Webkit-based browsers are having on the open nature of the web. That picture that was posted earlier making fun of IE6? Webkit is turning into the new IE6.
