I CAN’T provide any screenshot because the game is running perfectly, and after 5 minutes or so, my screen turns black and the sound is stuttering, so screenshot service is unavailable at that time. The only way to come back to my computer again, is to reboot it manually (I can’t kill hl2.exe from task manager, NOTHING)
My system is fully updated, Windows, Drivers, EVERYTHING.
My Computer has a great hardware, so I’m clearly above the minimum required for play Team Fortress 2.
When I run my computer after the crash, it says nothing, the only thing which appears is more errors in TF2 File Debug, which I let you here:
http://pastebin.com/uAmVjtmq
The only way to extend time of playing, is killing those applications in task manager:
* explorer.exe
* dwm.exe
* iTunesHelper.exe
* jusched.exe
* SpotifyWebHelper.exe
But it only allows me to play more time (30 minutes usually) but crashes again (happening the same error, black screen and sound loop)
I reinstalled the game, I verified the cache and the desfragmentation, but its still not working.
In other games like Age Of Empires II The Conquerors Expansion, which doesn’t need Steam to run, works perfectly fine and I don’t experiencie any error, only in Steam Games (in DoD:S too)
– I did the video setting you recommended me earlier, the launch options ” -safe ” and ” -autoconfig ” separately, and happens the same.
– I have AVAST Antivirus, but when I desactivate it, I have the same error, over and over again.
P.D: I’m desesperated with this error, having it since Halloween Update.

harddisk error? try to get the game to another, or atleast copy it and try if that works

msoinfo32 reports that everything in my computer is working perfectly.
the blob file isn’t working, I tried it too in this 4 months of trying to fix it.
sounds much like an overheating issue. install a temperature monitor, like Core Temp, and see what it has to say? It has a logging feature, so you can see your temps after you’ve rebooted.
On the other hand, the pastebin log seems to suggest a broken hdd.. Have a go with this little tool http://www.nu2.nu/bst/

I believe I had a similar problem. I wouldn’t get those corrupt index files, but I would have crashes after some time in-game, followed with the same sound.
What fixed it was a new cooler when I noticed my temperature went sky high in newer games. I would try what Spike said.

I downloaded it and tested the c:/ but nothing new.
Apart from this, I investigated about the overheating issue, I activated my fan in the highest speed, but it didn’t work neither.
Actually, I don’t think is a problem of overheating, my computer would have exploded already for all the times it crashed by this issue.
What I am going to do the next, is to delete the username/team fortress 2 and reinstall it completely.
if it would overheat, it would restart and not freezing(at least if the cpu overheats)
did you try and older driver?

Corrupted RAM, maybe?

I never had to install new drivers for the two years I have been playing with this computer, I did update them when this bug appeared and tried with a roll back as well to the time when I didn’t have any problem while playing.
Corrupted RAM? Uhm, need an insight about that…
