Hello TF2 doods,

So I am having PC issues. My PC is two months old, so basically a new PC. I will list my PC specifications above. The issue I am having is that the PC simply won’t turn on. At first it happend at least 3 weeks ago, I managed to turn the computer at some point and instantly reinstalled windows. That worked and I was able to do stuff again (at that time I thought it was some faulty program or so), but the same thing happend 3 days ago. I was playing some game and screen + sound got stuck, I restarted the PC and since then I cannot turn it on. Basically when I press the “turn on” button on the case, all fans and lights turns on and then after few seconds it turns off, goes on again and goes off again etc.

I have tried to look inside, everything looks alright, as I mentioned the fans are working, lights are working too. Tried disconnecting cabels, replaced graphics card into another slot (since there are two slots on the mobo).

So does anyone have any clue what it could be? I am really tempted to bring the PC to the shop where I got all the parts from since basically the computer is new….

PC spec:

CPU – Intel Core i5-3570k, 3.4ghz (not oc’d)

Motherboard – Asrock Z77 Extreme4 – Intel z77

RAM – Corsair 16gb (4×4) DDR3-1600mhz

Graphics card – Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB

SSD – Samsung 830 Series 64GB 2.5″

HDD – Seagate 2TB 3.5″ 7200RPM

PSU – Corsair GS600 600W ATX

CPU Cooler – Hyper 612S

Maybe the Power supply is messed up. I have had problems where the pc would apprently start… the fan is running and ligts are working but at the same time it didnt start windows what so ever. This has happened to me 2 times now and both times changing the PSU fixed it.
I know it seems wierd but yeah, the HDDs or Windows it self wasnt the problem.

If the mainboard doesn’t even make any beep’s, its most certainly the PSU. Had this once myself, although with a PSU I’ve been using for more than 5 years.

There is a beeping sound whenever the PC starts turning on.

Have you tried booting without your GPU? You have onboard video, so you can remove the gpu to narrow it down. You can also try hooking up like a 15,- power supply to see if it will boot.

How many times did it beep? The beeping is usually error codes ;). (removed my first comment, because dead mobos usually dont beep)

Generally, in a mainboard’s manual you get translations for what the beeps mean.

They can indicate serveral things, usually, one short beep when the PC boots means that all is fine.

I had cases where long beeps showed a RAM malfunction, or Graphics card.
It’d be good to know what kind of beep it is. ALso, my previous ASRock had one of those fancy led screens on it, where you could see error codes too.

Removed the beeper from my mainboard, livin’ the thug life.

Would also follow Koetje’s advice and remove the graphics card, then check power supply.

It’s just the normal beep as the computer starts turning on. I had it since I bought the PC. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?

Yes.

This makes me second nTraums notion.
Apparently your processor/RAM work fine.
