USB Port Issue

Recently my USB mouse has been freezing occasionally for about a second and would just flick across the screen. It didn’t seem like the usual Logitech disconnecting problem as there was no USB disconnect sound. Anyway, I was playing earlier to see if the disconnecting problem was still happening and then both my mouse and keyboard (also USB) disconnected. I kept changing which ports they were in but it didn’t make a difference until after a reboot. (Note that my wireless adapter and external hard drive didn’t stop working).
After rebooting I started changing which ports things were in and it seemed I had to plug in things into certain ports in a certain order before I could get them working. After 10 minutes they both stopped working again.
Also, I’ve tried to update my USB drivers and they’re all up to date (I think)

My Logitech G700 does this too occasionally and it is frustrating as hell. Mine does play the USB-sound of it replugging though. I only used the (shitty) software a few times to remove the default DPI-changing buttons so I wouldn’t accidentally mess up the sensitivity, but since then I haven’t used it and it never runs on my PC. This is frustrating as hell and I would like a solution as well.

If you remove your external drive and or wireless adapter does this still happen? Unlikely but could be power related.

So it’s the same problem on the USB3 and USB2 ports? They both use different chipsets on that mobo (no native support of USB3 on a p67 mobo, it has it’s own controller). I also had troubles with booting when I connected a certain mouse (i think it was the abyssus) to a certain port type, but it worked fine when I used it on a different port type. So it might just be that. You can also try connecting the keyboard to PS/2 and see what happens then, if its a power issue that might just be enough? You could also use a powered usb hub.

Wiper, what kind of mobo do you have? I’ve no troubles with my g400 on a Asrock p67 pro3.

Seems I’ve fixed my issue
My keyboard and mouse only disconnect when I’ve got a certain Logitech G400 plugged in (I have 2).
No idea why this would happen, but whatever
