Net problem

Alright I’ve decided to actually post this since I cant seem to find a fix.
So here is my problem: My net sucks in the evening. And apparently it is not cause by heavy trafic nor is it cause by any of my flatmates. I have called my ISP several times now they have done stuff like port resets and all that and have told me multiple times my line should have no problems and its getting its 6mbit/s (which sucks anyway).
Today they sent me their newest router model in exchange for me old one hoping it would fix the case but instead its still the exact same.
To be precise, I normally get around 5.7mbit/s, starting at around 18:00 – 18:30 (and lasting till about 21:30 – 22:00) cet/gmt it drops down to about 2.0mbit/s (sometimes even lower) – as a result my ping is around 90 – 130 and very jittery.

Spec’s:
ISP Vodafone/Arcor Germany
DSL 6000kbit/s
Win 7 networkthrottling index is set to fffffff
standard ethernet port and a wireless card (i tried both wireless and ethernet + i tried on different pc’s doesnt change)

What I have done so far:
– new router
– several port resets by my ISP
– ensuring no one is using my net
– took the router of the net a thousand times
– replaced my telephone socket with a new one

If anyone has an idea on how to solve this or what I could try to do to solve it, please help me out. Also if i missed some important information just point it out and i will add it.

Thanks in advance Shifty

And please don’t just say “change your ISP”, it’s not that easy for me.

Heavy load on ISP in evening it’s like most common issue ever. Lucky me, my connection is unbearable only on saturday evenings.

Quoted from Shifty

it is not cause by heavy trafic/load

They have ensured that plus my line is still getting the 6mbit it just doesn’t seem to get through all the way :/

Sounds exactly what I’d expect if there was peak throttling by your ISP. Lots of ISPs deny that they do it when they actually do.

Ah man that sucks :(
Any idea what to do other than kicking their butts even more than i already did ? Called them like 10 -15 times so far.

Well, changing the ISP ;)

I don’t think you can do anything beside pleading to them.

could be a line thing too, it gets more noisy during peak time.. tbh if they cant figure out then its a pretty incompetent company and u should consider switching.
