Sup Forum, since tonight after playing some dayz my pc starts to freeze until i have to shut it down and if i want to restart it it says :” DQS training failed on previous boot, reverted to lower DRAM speed”
nothing happens and when i unplugg everything but power my pc starts properly, i will reinstall all the usb drivers now and see if that fixes something. I also checked some forums trying to find a solution but since you are all white and nerdy pc people i want your help + i dont understand shit that is in this forums :) pls help me out
1 hat ( of my choice ) for the solution
Does this message appear every time you start your computer?
How many sticks of ram do you have?
If you have more than one i suggest taking out a stick of ram and seeing if the error persist and then replace it and take out a different stick. Could be an issue with a faulty ram stick.
Have you ever tried over clocking?
May be a strange BIOS settings, try loading up your BIOS on boot and check the system time is correct, then go to RAM/Memory and set the speeds to manual and or default.
http://www.memtest.org/
download that and let it run (short diagnostic should be enough)
if it comes up with errors (red is bad), your RAM may be dead etc
could also be an issue with your Board’s CMOS/BIOS battery whatever you want to call it, i.e. settings become “lost” when there’s no power. Try changing something in the BIOS, shut down, pull out the power, power back up and see if the settings are still there :)
^ can you explain to me wich of these i have to dl, the freezes stopped when i used a different mouse and i just had one against 30mins ago, thanks so far peeps :3
give us full tech specs. Name and model of your motherboard, same for processor and RAM. Also provide speeds of the processor and ram as well as the amount of RAM.

the message stopped to appear after i plugged out everything but my power + keyboard, pc is smoothly runnign for 2 hrs now after i updated all the drivers etc. i will check the ram sticky thing now. Also had the RAM / Memory speed on default
edit : never tried to overclock, ty for your time
The DQS event is often related to the powersupply. Usually instable powersupply, or a small overload. Is there a another powersupply lying around you can test with? Did you recently change anything to your system?

changed nothing, my powercable seems to have a lil loose connection from time to time (?!) :)

Replace the kettle power cable just in case, but if it hasn’t appeared again i wouldnt worry about it.

get an empty USB key and let it run, then set the boot priority in the BIOS to USB KEY or something. I dont think the RAM is really the problem, but it’s good to be on the safe side.
What’s DQS training?

@ ipz: You could also try locating DQS settings in your BIOS. If you can find the option (advanced settings probably) try setting it to “default”, or “off” if that is a viable option.
