I wanna get mechanical keyboard, but i find it hard to choose between Thermaltake Meka G Unit, Steelseries 7G and Corsair Vengeance K90.

All of them are in similar price range, all of them have “gaming” mechanical switches (although Corsair has “lighter” red version), I don’t care about fancy gimmicks like backlight or macro keys, and appearance (Corsair looks great, Meka ugly), I want to know which of them is most durable and comfortable (I don’t want 100€ keyboard with worn off keycaps or broken wristrest, sliding on desk because its too light or sth)

So, does anyone have or had one of those or maybe can suggest something else?

I have the Steelseries 6G/v2. Which is almost the exact keyboard except the keyboard doesn’t have the female ports on the back of it and quite the variety of male ports to choose from. Oh and that wrist rest that I don’t really care for…

Been using mine for almost a year. It’s pretty weight-y and durable. To give you an impression; I could probably kill a man with this keyboard and still use it after.

I can’t really vouch for comfort because I didn’t know fucking up comfort for a keyboard was possible, you do get that wrist rest with the 7G that detaches so I guess it wont be a big issue for you.

What I can say is that there are different sub-versions that will change the key layout based on region it was attended for. Sadly, these get jumbled up when being sold to retailers so you may get a version with a few keys swapped in weird positions.

Whats wrong with a sidewinder x4?
Its cheap, durable, heavy and ergonomic. The clicky keys are obnoxious and pointless imo..

That’s because you’ve never used one and do not understand the premise of a mechanical keyboard.

They are designed to be tactile and not all are loud, different switches allow for different tactility and clickyness. They are also far more responsive than normal keyboards and will last a lot longer than rubber dome or membrane keyboards.

They are also build like tanks usually, and will often sport a steel backplate to allow for no bending.

I have a Zowie Celebritas met cherry reds. And it’s a world of difference with normal keyboards in typing and playing. I would have chosen the Flico tactile 145 but 170-200 euro’s for a keyboard is too obnoxious for me.

Chosing a mechanical keyboard is really personal i feel. You must ask yourself the following things:

Do I want light or sturdy keys?
Do you want to have alot of macro keys or not?
Do you want loud keys or not?
Do you want backlight or not?
Etc.

Then by those answers choose the right keyboard that fits you. There is a ton of information to be found about all keyboards. I read alot of reviews before choosing because it’s still alot of money for most mechanical keyboards.
