Hi network pros, I’m having bit of annoying problem and can’t figure out wth is wrong.

Basicly when ever I cannect laptop to router via ethernet port my router stops responding. I can use internet on all of devices connected to router (including the laptop), but I cant login to router anymore (to change settings) from any device. I have to restart router to be able to connect to it again and thats bit annoying cuz its hidden in ceiling. Ive already tried two different routers and same thing happens to both so i doubt its router fault.

Also, if I connect via wi-fi it works just fine, only the ethernet port on laptop makes it time out but im kinda using it as seedbox so i dont really want wireless because on lan its too slow. Anyone got any clue what am i doing wrong?!

F!

Have you tried to turn off the router, wait 10 seconds and then turn it on again?

Sounds a lot like this problem that I experienced not long ago.

Check the network adaptor is being seen by the pc. Make sure all the LAN options in your BIOS menu are set correctly. Restore fail safe defaults. Good luck.

Just reset it to default settings, usually there is a button you can hold down for x seconds to do this.
