TF2 not launching

So yeah, lately my TF2 doesnt launch (and if it does, it takes REALLY long).
It just says “Preparing to launch Team Fortress 2…” steam isnt even stuck, its running smoothly :(
I tried restarting steam tons of times already, doesnt seem to be working, if anyone knows how to solve this problem please do say :p

Mine takes ages as well. It does go after a while but it’s one damn long while.

try a defrag. make sure no process is taking high on RAM/CPU. then run the game and wait 10 minutes on the clock, if it does not launch, a format should fix it.

Yep, same here. Takes long, but it always works, so I’m not too fussed.

If it didn’t fix it after the first restart, what made you think that restarting it a 2nd time (or more) would change that? :D

delete everything in steam dir except steamapps folder and steam.exe

and start steam, let it update itself

and defrag is good idea, might just be ur hdd not steam :D

I now did the defrag thingy, it works.
Still takes a minute to launch, but its better than nothing ;)
