Hey, I want to play a demo from the 15.10.2011.
If I want to play it, it shows me this bug:

Valve fucked up all the demos before manniversary update so they’re unplayable, and demos after that but before the halloween update is really glitchy.

It was the recording that was broken, so any demos recorded during this time are broken. They have fixed that now, meaning that all demos you record now CAN be watched. The others are still broken.

tl;dr ‘playdemo’ is working just fine.
