Setting up a Multiplay server for ETF2L Highlander play

This is calling out to anyone who’s got experience running a Multiplay server for TF2, I am in dire need of help.
I’ll make no illusions, I am a straight up pubb/n00b in the world of competitive TF2, and I recently had the bright idea of renting a server so my team (Easy Company, 2nd Battalion) could practice and host matches with decent ping.
The only problem is, I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA HOW TO SET UP A COMPETITIVE SERVER.
I have no experience and very little idea where to start. I am relying on the good faith of ETF2L to help a new player in serious need. Please help?
TL;DR n00bie has no idea how to set up a multiplay server to conform to ETF2L Highlander rules and needs help.
All of the configs are already there on Multiplay. I’m not sure if they updated to the latest configs yet (as they were updated last night). You just need to select them (somehow), but I don’t use MP, so I can’t tell you how.
I will contact multiplay to update all ETF2L configs later this afternoon :)
After things have been updated, you should only have to change the maps. The configs and other settings will be done automatically.
As someone who has only recently started messing around with servers myself, may I recommend using http://www.hlsw.deHLSW[/url]. Best thing ever.
Can you get Multiplay to add the supplemental stats plugin: http://tf2logs.com/plugins#suppstats
Or tell me how I can add it to a Multiplay server :(

Just go to your clanforge page, and then go to Files -> Upload and fill in the form. Once verified, It’ll get added for all multiplay servers (you can activate plugins at the addon section of a server profile).

Hey guys.
Thanks so much for replies, but I’ve been going over Multiplay’s configs, mods, etc, and found nothing related to competitive TF2 or ETF2L at all. Can anyone tell me- SPECIFICALLY- where the mods are found, how to get them installed on the server, and then how to activate them.
…. Please? =(
there is no mod needed, all you need to do is exec the cfg u want
u can do it via console, write “rcon exec etf2l” which would exec 6v6 cp config
you dont really need to upload any configs if ur only worried about playing in etf2l, bcs multiplay servers already have the config pack uploaded to all of its servers
Use an FTP, (file Transfer protocol), client, such as Filezilla. Upload all the configs you want to the servers tf/cfg folder.
To execute a config type:
exec etf2l.cfg (for the etf2l 6v6 config)
exec etf2l_hl.cfg (for the highlander config)
in console, (use hlsw and you never need to remember any rcon commands…it does it for you, remembers every command you ever give it…like magic or something.), the config will run and the server is ready for you to play matches of TF2.
Seriously, if I can do it, anyone can :D

I don’t think Multiplay is supporting ftp for upload. Might be wrong though.

That is true.
Multiplay uses Clanforge to manage servers, which is convenient but for more advanced users a bit of a hassle.
However, in most cases its not really necessary to upload sth via FTP since multiplay offers tons of addons and basically all maps already.
I personally set the whole etf2l config thingy up myself, I dont like configs that auto load on map change, if you (OP) have any specific question or want to have this, feel free to add me on steam
On the site, you can go to files and upload stuff there. But since everything is shared pretty much all maps and configs should already be on the servers. So as animal says, you can just do “rcon exec etf2l” and your server will be ready (for a 6v6 match).
I’ll try to get the recent configs added today.

Ok, thanks so much for that! Entering that console command set me up right proper for ETF2L 6v6 configs, but as I said in my original post, i’m trying to set it up for the new season of Highlander- 9v9 with all unlocks allowed.
Is there a particular command for that?
