Does a cooler take significantly more power?
the problem is the psu brand, if its not a good psu it could simply fry all ur system if u overload it

Simply by adding a new cooler?
WHAT? no, air cooling has almost no impact whatsoever… also u already have cooler on ur card, so… i dont understand what ur thinking :D
Well this cooler was fine until about 2-3 months ago, so it implies that something has gone wrong, most likely the cooler?
most likely its much hotter atm than it was 2 or 3 months ago
therefore increased ambient temp has fucked u up. that is all
take the heatsink off and get some arctic silver thermal paste. its about a quid.
get some vodka or white spirit and dab it onto a tissue and wipe off all the old thermal paste. then apply new shit. it may help it may not.
or
just drill a shitload of holes in the top of your case and stick some 120mm fans in there problem solved.
mine has been cutting out if i turn my fans off recently. but normally i have no issues. its just because its hotter for me atm. i expect by late autumn t will be cool enough to not need my fans on again.
EDIT: Found cheaper cooler which will be enough. http://www.purecoolpc.co.uk/buynow-id-10784,20785-ARCTIC-MX-2-Thermal-Paste-65g.html
