GPU overheating

I got a problem with my GPU, it is idling around 75 C but when playing games it can cause my system to shut down.
I just cleaned it from all the dust and am now playing without the side panel and it is still hot?
Any reason for this? Was working perfectly until about 2-3 months ago, got worse and worse.

Is the fan actually running? For it to idle at 75C, I would assume that the fan has completely gone.

buy one
Yeah, spend 35 pounds on a cooler for a low-end card.
You better buy a new GPU.
Goddamn expensive :(
Well what price would I be looking at for a new GPU, compatible with a Dell System MotherBoard Studio XPS 8100 – DH57M01.
As this is my parents machine (long story) it is a pre-built Dell, so would would I be looking at in terms of cost to upgrade.
lol just buy new or used but with warranty card, 460’s or 9800GT’s are cheap and good
also, if ur poor like latvian – try downclock
edit: nvm, its dell u can forget it… prolly will need also psu upgrade, those cards need at least 400w-450w psu’s

open case, point fan at it lolololololololol.
Yeah it is a problem as it is not up to me really. This is slightly annoying I have to say.
Also just checked only a 350 W PSU :(

Do you have i5 or i7?
Well, i5-650 TDP is 73W, 460 takes 160W so in theory it could work with 350W PSU. But I wouldn’t risk it anyway.
