Terrible crippling lag in 6v6

I get insane amounts of ‘lag’ when I’m playing 6v6, it only happens on an evening when both teams ready up. Then my game just freezes, stutters, and then runs fine for a few seconds, then freezes, stutters for about a minute, rinse and repeat.
Uninstalled PREC thinking it could be that: no help. When I bring up net_graph 4 it says I have loss of about 80 and choke gets to 5. At all other times they are both 0.
As I type this, I’m lagging out of a 6v6 game, having played a few earlier with no problems. Happened last night as well.
EDIT: Soon as I type it, it disappears. I’d still appreciate an answer since it’ll come back though.

Using a custom HUD? Uninstall it by completely removing the resource and scripts folders in the tf directory. That rup panel sounds fishy :/

I’m using broesel hud, but I don’t understand why it would only happen when playing 6v6.
It might be overheating, how would I check that?
coretemp http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
and your graphics card software should have its own monitor somewhere

I’d use coretemp, my graphics card software told me 40 degrees but it was really at 110 when i checked with coretemp :/
sounds similair to what ive had happen over the past couple days. check to make sure none of your fans are broken.

Your graphics card software was probably right too. coretemp reads cpu temps, not that of your gfx card :)
Hmm, have you tried playing Highlander instead? I heard it’s a better game mode, too.
If he’s getting packetloss i doubt it is anything related to the cpu/gpu. Check your configs imo.

TF2Ware all the way
No overheating of my CPU or graphics card. This has made us lose a map in an official now and it’s really fucking annoying. Any other suggestions?
freezes and stutters…. err… is that really game?! is ur fps dropping? does the game actually have 0 fps for that moment?!
it sounds more like connection issue to me atm
It does sound like an internet problem; when I bring up net_graph I am getting choke and loss – no fps problems, it stays at about 200. But my internet seems fine, my mumble carries on and web pages load, I don’t get a high ping or any other visible change APART from my TF2 dying.

I also got this. It was every time we push, maybe its caused by rocket jumping or something, I dont know, but it was genuinely every time a push happened, and at rollout. Usually restarting my router fixes it, but its REALLY annoying when it happens..
It was ping, not fps, at least for me.
Fixed it by reinstalling tf2.
